As Donald Trump continues to indicate that he might be willing to change his position on climate change, which he has long called a “hoax,” the president-elect met Monday with former vice president Al Gore, who has become a prominent activist in the fight against global warming.
Gore was originally scheduled to meet just with Trump's oldest daughter, Ivanka Trump, who is not registered with a political party and has already pushed her father to adopt positions usually promoted by Democrats. Gore told reporters that after that meeting, he then had “an extremely interesting conversation” with the president-elect.
“I had a lengthy and very productive session with the president-elect. It was a sincere search for areas of common ground,” Gore told reporters after spending about 90 minutes at Trump Tower in Manhattan during the lunch hour Monday. “I had a meeting beforehand with Ivanka Trump. The bulk of the time was with the president-elect, Donald Trump. I found it an extremely interesting conversation, and to be continued, and I'm just going to leave it at that.”
Trump has repeatedly called climate change a “hoax” and has even accused the Chinese government of creating this fake problem to steal manufacturing jobs from the United States. But Trump seemed to soften that position during a meeting with the New York Times late last month, saying that he would keep an “open mind” on the issue and acknowledging that human activity might be connected to changes in the climate.
Ivanka Trump is one of the most influential people in Trump's life and is a member of his transition team, although she has said she does not plan to take an active role in her father's administration. Her husband, Jared Kushner, is one of Trump's most trusted aides, and the couple are reportedly house-hunting in Washington.

Divide and conquer stories are continuing to be served up to keep the victorious Right off balance.
Are we going to let them? By taking them remotely seriously plays into their hands and gives us a well deserved case of Alinsky, if we are not discerning and clear eyed about their motives.
Be calm, be brutal, by walking with your compatriots and not going wobbly in the face of the media psyops. The media has declared war on us. (Especially this Stein recount story.) Forget them. Keep moving.

Except that Al Gore has already demonstrated his contempt for the Constitution, that he is a vapid know-nothing and that he will sell principles (as he defines it anyway) to the highest bidder.
There is nothing that can be learned from Al Gore other than he is a dangerous, pompous fool and it does not require a personal meeting with him to know this.
Don’t forget ALGORE is also on the board of Apple.
Even if this is just to talk, it’s unnerving. We didn’t elect Jim Inhofe with a proven record on energy such that I’d feel better about such a meeting. Trump’s considering all the right people for EPA and DOE and given all the right signals about environmental regulations, but there’s nothing productive to talk about with the holy high priest of global warming.
Maybe he’s just trying to ease the worries of liberals while they’re trying to foment mutiny before the electoral college vote before he nominates Ebell for EPA. I hope that’s the case, but this is worrying.

Patriots need to get constitutionally low-information Trump up to speed with the constitutional reality that the states have never delegated to the feds the specific power to regulate, tax and spend for climate issues.
In fact, using broad language, a previous generations of state sovereignty-respecting justices had clarified this as follows.

Im not happy but in not upset...Trump does seem to do thing like this ..think rommey.. its a seem to be art of the deal tactic ..it a preemptive meet to defuse a potentinal opponent...
Bottom line Trump is so diffrent the what we are use to ..i could care less who he talk to... i will wait and see what he does ..i do not see trump wrecking the economy to.buy.in to.man made climate change but if he gives green a meet to shut them up we’ll talk is free actually

I presume that Trump will also let the other side make their pitch. I would simply point out that there has been no measurable warming in the past two decades, and all the models that predicted it (which is like 19 out of 20) were wrong.
From there, a pragmatist would ask: "What was wrong with your models, and why should I believe them now?"
Yeah, here in the SF Bay Area, the Air Quality Management District declares a “no burn day” for our winter fireplaces when the pollution Index gets to 50 ( that has been a dozen winter days max for years). China routinely has indices all over their country that exceed 850!

Al Gore did NOT indicate they talked about Climate Change.
I have no idea what they talked about. Maybe Trump asked him to go on a diet. Gore’s comment was basically “We talked.”
Maybe they did talk about Climate Change.

Look at it this way. Rather than banning coal, Trump is for clean coal using technology and putting coal miners back to work. I don’t think that’s going to change.
Trump is going to dismantle the climate change scam that is nothing more than a scheme by crooks to increase the size of government and increase taxes.
