LA discovered they might lose 500,000,000 and they were supposed to have started meetings to figure out what to do if anything. This after the chief of police and the mayor made public statements that they would always be a sanctuary city.

How is point A (loss of perhaps half a billion dollars) NOT related to point B (Sanctuary Forever!)?

The sanctuary is certainly not worth the half billion dollars.
