"Officials are conducting an urgent review of the billions of dollars that New York City receives each year from the federal government to identify the streams of money that may be most at risk once President-elect Donald J. Trump takes office."

I’m seeing where anti-Trump state liberals may be instrumental in helping patriots to put a stop to unconstitutional federal taxes.

More specifically, Trump & liberals need to get a grip on the following idea. Probably much of the “federal” dollars that Trump might threaten NYC with losing are arguably NY state revenues, possibly including revenues from other states, that the corrupt, post-17th Amendment ratification Congress has stolen from the states in the form of unconstitutional taxes, taxes that Congress cannot justify under its constitutional Article I, Section 8-limited powers.

“Congress is not empowered to tax for those purposes which are within the exclusive province of the States.” —Justice John Marshall, Gibbons v. Ogden, 1824.

Such federal taxes must be permanently stopped.

And patriots must make sure that the associated transfer of stolen state powers back to the states is likewise permanent unless the Constitution is appropriately amended.

Othewise, it’s only a matter of time before another lawless president works in cahoots with a corrupt, state sovereignty-ignoring Congress and activist justices to oppress the people with stolen state powers.

So, liberals are starting to develop a taste for state’s rights and independence from the federal government. Now to work on getting them to have a taste for deregulating city governments.. Think Trump would mind running for mayor of NYC in 8 years?

$500 million? They could probably trim salaries a bit and make that up.

“Instead of taxing the hell out of everyone, and then giving them freebies, just eliminate the federal “aid” and cut taxes proportionately. Then fire all the government workers whose jobs are to pass that money back and forth”

Totally agree and hold every govt employee to their promise that they would leave govt if Trump was elected!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I respect their principled stand. Let’s see how long principle holds out when salaries are at risk.

To be fair, feral city dwellers have largely produced that outcome.

Oh no, I want all of those in favor of Agenda 21 to be packed together as densely as possible.

Don't disperse them to the areas of self reliance.

I don’t think is is a principled stand. They could give a dam- about them. They are just pandering to a voting block like they did with the Blacks. No principle involved. You give them too much credit.

Shut down their cash flow.

Why should taxpayers foot the bill for New York’s Marxist BS?

California spends 18 billion a year on services to illegals. Of course, they won’t cut this...

No, that's the downside of creating a dependent population, you can't dismount the tiger.

...they will cut services to the taxpayers or raise taxes.

Right about that too. If they don't get the money from the U.S. taxpayer and can't borrow it, they'll get it from the Kali taxpayer. Unlike the feds, they can't print it.

So yes, progressives who think that by creating a dependent population they've created obedient slaves may find out that they've created masters instead. The Europeans are finding this out with respect to their own immigration issue. Tough to climb down from that tiger because he's enjoying the ride.

I know. I was trying to paraphrase Arthur Bach (Dudley Moore)’s father in ‘Arthur.’

I do think that ‘civil servants’ tend to forget that money, including their salaries, does not grow on trees and that budgets ultimately rely on confiscation of property aka taxes.

They can’t see past their next election, of course.

“I will not get tired of winning.”

Same with me.
It’s going to take me at least two or three years to get used to winning.

Illegal aliens are already a drain on sanctuary cities. The loss of federal money will be like a double whammy for them.

Won’t they just cut police and fire budgets?

And libraries, don't forget libraries.
