I like the carrot but not the stick. Instead, we need set up a tax/legal environment that encourages companies to do business here in general. That’s the president’s real job.

Sometimes the stick is necessary to get folks to recognize the carrot. It's up to them if they prefer the stick.

It might just be a good idea to keep some critical manufacturing infrastructure in this country.
If there is an EMP attack/event, wouldn’t it be nice to have companies that make transformers and capacitors?
What about computer systems and engines? It might be a little hard to order components from China if we go to war with them.

“I like the carrot but not the stick..”

I agree with you, although it’s early. The carrot of a sane tax and regulatory regime encourages companies to invest here, and if done right, will keep them here. The stick of a major tariff for those that leave will dissuade new investment, because it will create a roach motel of “you can check in but you can never leave.”

Yeah it all crap bitch and whine with ZERO alternative offered. It is knee jerk negativity and whining all the time.

Should we not be holding him to his promises?

Ankle biting naysayers don't know a way, therefore it isn't possible.

What's your solution?

How about your IT workers? Your R&D engineers and scientists? Your medical support?

Should we not be waiting until he’s actually president before we accuse him of breaking them? I don’t recall him promising to “fix” every issue of every occupation of every potential sector of the economy all before Jan. 20.

It will be across the board.

Did you know Trump is not President yet, and thus has ZERO authority to make changes at the federal level?

Boy, are you dense. The topic is MANUFACTURING JOBS. No one said that the service sector was going to be excluded. If that’s your obsession, post a vanity and rant away.

"Some people need to pay more attention to what he actually says rather than what someone else says he said. "

I assume you mean me. I've been listening and have kept up with his site, been watching since the very early days.

Will you please tell me what I've missed? I appreciate it.

Thanks for clarifying.

If the internal “revenues” were not significantly changed I think this approach aligns with strengthening the free market. At least it would be a simplification and cost businesses and citizens less in compliance.

Do you know of any analyses of this approach?

Agreed. We need real change and, IMHO, he's the only one who's shown the guts to make that happen since the early days of the campaign.
