Green Party will switch to federal court for Penn. recount bid

HARRISBURG, Pa. -- A Green Party-backed campaign changed its strategy to force a statewide recount of Pennsylvania’s Nov. 8 presidential election, won by Republican Donald Trump, and said late Saturday night that it will seek help in the federal courts, rather than the state courts.

The announcement that it would seek an emergency federal court order on Monday for a recount came hours after it dropped a case in the state courts.

“Make no mistake - the Stein campaign will continue to fight for a statewide recount in Pennsylvania,” recount campaign lawyer Jonathan Abady said in a statement issued around 11:30 p.m. “We are committed to this fight to protect the civil and voting rights of all Americans.”

In the statement, Abady said barriers to a recount in Pennsylvania are pervasive and the state court system is ill-equipped to address the problem.

Guess the Feds don’t ask for the $1,000,000 bond. Now we shop for Lib judges and free ones too.

So far in the recount effort their “judge shopping” has produced big duds in the courts, and that includes rulings from judges in heavily Democratic areas like Madison Wisconsin and Philly.

I was surprised at that. It's almost like we can win if we have a fighter for a candidate. Who would have guessed that standing up for the law would work better than surrender?

I can’t picture federal courts being very sympathetic...

I’d bet money that this crew of nut-jobs have shopped around and found left wing nut-job judge to which they will try to get assigned to their case.

The district court should be loathe to upend a ruling by the local election officials. Unfortunately, there is always the chance of getting stuck with an activist, biased judge.

What do you mean there is a "chance"? It is a sure bet they will find an activist judge (they probably already have). O-a-holes judges relish the thought of forcing a state to do something and overruling the will of the people.

As sure as the sun will rise tomorrow morning, you will hear that a federal judge has ordered a state wide recount by tonight if not tomorrow morning.

“Why does someone who got less than 1% of the vote allowed to do this?”

Because too many in our nation have lost a sense of duty and honor. Up to and including on the Supreme Court. Case in point is the 2-2 vote for a recount in Michigan. She has no standing to request one and the state just completed a 3 week recount before declaring.

If the shoe were on the other foot and Trump had conceded, yet the Libertarian party was doing the same as Stein, I would be perfectly fine with the 2 GOP board members doing their job and declining the recount. Why? Because it’s the correct decision given the facts presented.

Some precincts in PA met the criteria (voter initiated) for recounts and are presently recounting.

Could Stein be claiming that the 14th Amendment is being violated because only selected precincts are recounting?

I can’t see any other way federal courts would be involved.

This would be a similar scenario to FL 2000.

So she set up a scenario she knew would fail so she could get the courts to intervene to shut it down. “Selected, not elected.”

“As sure as the sun will rise tomorrow morning, you will hear that a federal judge has ordered a state wide recount by tonight if not tomorrow morning.”

I agree. I believe all 3 of these recounts will end up in their respective federal appellate courts just prior to the safe harbor date and between the safe harbor date and the vote the supreme court will hear some combined version as such on an emergency basis.

I believe Hillary’s (and Obama’s btw) goal is to create a constitutional crisis thru their proxy in hopes of impacting the eligibility of or the voting pattern of the electoral college.

I believe the key to resolving this now is to publicly bring Hillary to the forefront as the party doing this. The main reason Stein is their agent is if Hillary did it the democrat party would be damaged. At least 85% of America knows this is done and settled and anyone litigating at this point is a sore loser. Americans do not like sore losers, that transcends party, so the dems are really playing with fire here. If they are to keep it up and the PR side of things gets out of control for them it would be a disaster in the mid west for 20 years.

We (Trump / GOP) need more FEC complaints based on financial collusion and a class lawsuit from Trump electors claiming fear of life / mental anguish due to coordinated death threats and harassment by the Clinton and Stein campaigns to the tune of some outrageous sum of money. An emergency civil suit with restraining orders and donors ip addresses is a good start. Something that will make headlines because the $ figure is absurdly high.

Any judge that would OK a wacko request like this should be immediately given the choice of being deported or executed in public for the crime of sedition against the United States.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++=
Why give him/her a choice? Deportation would be too kind.

IIRC, he gained 3 more votes than Hillary. Which means he gained 122 as you posted, and she gained 119.

The voter fraud is so big in CA, if those fraudulent votes were lined up end to end, it would reach the Moon. The governor of California, Mr Moonbeam, said somehing like if you vote, you become a citizen of United States.

In my own case, I am naturalized citizen, and no one ever asked to see my citizenship certificate in 12 presidential elections in which I was a registered voter & voted.

California is the home of Liberal Twilight Zone inhabitants. If you look at the state county by county, there’s a lot of RED. The human waste live in SF, LA, and along the Coast. The Governor who doesn’t have grey matter that functions and the Assembly are a waste of skin, in my opinion.

Don’t count on it. Obama has stacked the federal courts with his people.

Another article suggesting Clinton Campaign motivation for this recounting fiasco. Not surprising to most of us.

Soros appears as the funding source for the Clinton Campaign :steal the electoral college effort working with the Green Party.
