I have read that GOP legislatures in some states where this crap is going on are going to revisit the laws governing recounts to make them more restrictive. The law in MI is especially onerous, where taxpayers are on the hook for paying for recounts.

That has been the case since 2000. Why would they change now? Every Presidency that has been won by a Republican has been contested (Bush and now Trump) because the claim popular vote victories for the Democrats (though Bush won by 2 million votes in 2004 - instead they claimed that election was stolen). This is done to call into question the legitimacy of the Republican Presidents, and to build support to replace the Electoral College with the popular vote for deciding a Presidential election.

You're welcome BTW. I came across those this year when researching recounts because I thought you had to have skin in the game (A.K.A. standing) myself and was shocked from what I learned.
