Wisconsin Recount Day 2 Totals: Trump Inches Further Ahead in Dec. 3 Numbers Update
Heavy.com ^ | 12-2-16 | Jessica McBride

Wisconsin recount totals for day 2 show that Donald Trump has inched ahead by a couple additional votes. Three to be exact.

The Wisconsin Election Commission posts recount data on a spreadsheet every day. The latest spreadsheet totals as of 1:30 p.m. CST on December 3 show that the recount isn’t changing much, although a smattering of errors have been found throughout the state. The candidates each lost and gained a smattering of votes in towns, cities, and villages that are reporting, so any losses were basically cancelled out.

The Election Commission doesn’t tally the returns, but, rather, just posts a raw spreadsheet of numbers. Heavy went through the spreadsheet and tallied the lost and gained votes for Trump and Clinton for each county so far, and then subtracted the two totals for a net gain or loss for day 2.

Here’s what the returns show so far:

Day 2 totals Clinton gained 89 votes but lost 86 for a net gain of 3 votes. Trump gained 98 votes but lost 92 for a net gain of 6 votes. OVERALL Clinton gained 3 votes Trump gained 6 votes Net Trump gain of 3 votes on Day 2

Trump won Wisconsin by more than 22,000 votes.

The thing that makes this even more moot than the end of the PA recount bid is the fact that Trump is sucking the oxygen out of the PR attacks by saving jobs at Carrier and by his Gratitude Tour.

That's what a recount looks like when there isn't any cheating.

All I can say is that I’d love to own a liquor store in Chappaqua, NY right now.

Rep. Duffy may have been describing the INTENT of the Stein campaign in demanding the stupid recount, but that strategy is never going to work.

The Wisconsin results have been certified. If they can't complete a recount by December 13th, then they'll use whatever results they had certified up to that point.

> Trump is sucking the oxygen out of the PR attacks

People were wondering why Trump was “asleep at the switch” when all the recount brouhaha started. I figured his people were quite active in responding, but in public he wanted to ignore the recount, precisely to prevent it from getting traction in the minds of the country.

We covered this on the primary Wisconsin thread.

Milwaukee is a county. Many cities or villages within it. Some of the cities posted results last night that did not include absentees, which they said they would count last. So vote totals were much lower for Hillary BUT ALSO FOR TRUMP. And so at that end of last night the leftists jumped up and yelled that Hillary was down 1000s of votes compared to Election Day, but it meant nothing. Those were simply incomplete results.

The more interesting thing was the leftists finding many Trump heavy wards showing “more votes than registered voters for that ward”. The explanation was the same day registration regulations put in by the Dems. Bottom line: Those wards’ registered voter counts on file were outdated because of those voters who registered that day just to vote for Trump.

Day 3 spreadsheet should only be an hour or two away.

The amusing thing is that so far she’s net -45 (filter her votes, column R, to remove blanks but keep zeroes, then select all of column Z to see the net change among all such rows).

whoa....that's not what I am seeing and based on Wisconsin's own verbiage, it can't be right
http://elections.wi.gov/node/4510

These are the explanations provided by the clerks for difference in numbers between canvass and the recount:

Eau Claire County: Increase of 11 votes in Town of Brunswick and 13 votes in Town of Seymour due to ballots marked incorrectly on Election Day.

Manitowoc County: Increase in 24 votes in Town of Centerville due to a stack ballots missed on Election Day.(all for Hillary)

Walworth County: Increase in 10 votes in Town of Whitewater Wards 1-2 due to ballot jams on Election Day.

Washburn County: Discrepancies in Town of Bashaw were due to an error in the previous certification. The total ballots for Trump/Pence should have been 385 instead of the 352 reported.

So, Near as I can figure 1038 out of 3636 wards are recounted.

I just noticed Iowa County,VILLAGE OF AVOCA, Ward 1 has a huge discrepency, so I am modifying my preliminary results, by leaving their totals out.

Preliminary - both gained votes (I don’t care about Stein or the others):
Trump: +245 +138
Hillary: +398+128

I just noticed Iowa County,VILLAGE OF AVOCA,Ward 1 has a huge discrepency, so I am modifying my preliminary results, by leaving them out.

The above totals do not contain Milwaukee County numbers. Milwaukee County counts do not reflect absentee ballot counts - the individual ward recount numbers are way off from the original counts.

Dane is a hand recount (slow walking) so results will be lagging.

Looking forward to slicing and dicing day 4

My guess is that Stein will cancel her MI request, but this will continue since she paid the money. Whether done or not, the WI leg will certify, the electors will go in, there will be no “faithless electors” ANYWHERE.

I am sick to the point of puking with these concern trolls who find one “what if” after another to whine about.

At the end of this recount the only thing that will happen is that the Ds will say “See, we told you that there is no voter fraud!”

This, of course, is not a valid inferance. A simple recount of the votes cast will not determine fraud. What is really needed is a canvas of the voters. Confirm that the people who voted actually exist and live at the listed address and whether they are U.S. Citizens. That is where the fraud exists, traveling caravans of 3rd world and Chicago types hitting a string of precincts, registering the same day, voting, and disappearing never to be found again.

LOL. I feel your pain. But as you opined elsewhere, many of us have an almost Pavlovian response compelling us to view victory warily with suspicious eyes. And that’s understandable given the decade of nonstop disappointments we’ve endured.

I am still dry disappointed that the Repubs, en masse, have not been publicly shaming Clinton for promoting these ridiculous challenges. They are legal but unethical and only public outrage will prevent them from becoming routine whenever Repubs win the Presidency. Moreover, the Rats will develop increasingly better methods of rigging elections.

After bush/gore it was probably standard operating procedure for the RNC to be on top of any recount challenge
