At 46 Years, EPA Will See HUGE Changes Under Trump

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) began operating 46 years ago after former President Richard Nixon proposed it as a way to address mounting pollution concerns across the country.

EPA celebrated its 46th anniversary Friday, just weeks before President-elect Donald Trump likely takes the agency in a totally different direction compared to the last eight years under President Barack Obama, focusing on clean air and quality instead of global warming.

Not only is Trump looking to roll back Obama-era regulations, the incoming administration reportedly has plans to fundamentally reform major decades-old environmental laws: The Clean Air Act and the Clean Water Act.

No doubt, Trump will work to repeal the “waters of the United States” rule and the Clean Power Plan rule for power plants. But his handlers suggested the new administration would work with Congress to pursue major legislative changes to stop regulatory overreach.

Charles Murray’s book By the People shows the severity of these regulations issued without any Congressional oversight (which is already lax), enforced by administrative courts, deferred to by actual courts if you can afford to appeal to them, and the rules and regulations so complex and onerous that it becomes immorally capricious enforcement.

Step One: unhook every phone, fax, computer, router, printer, copier, communication device in the whole agency. Stop paying for all forms of communication.

If they want to use their private cell phones, fine.

Step Two: freeze all hiring and void all regulations passed in the last 20 years.

The left put in two “hot” words when this was established: Environmental and Protection.

How can a politician come out against those two words in today’s world.

Your EPA at work. Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't think any gov’t bureaucrats were fired/jailed/fined for this little oopsie....

I'm old enough to remember when the primary -- actually, ONLY -- function of the EPA was to produce Woodsy The Owl commercials.

I'm old enough to remember leaded gas, brown air, smog and other stuff.

Not saying I'm a fan of the EPA however they did have a useful function in cleaning up the air and protecting the environment. They ARE out of control and have been pushing a "green agenda" for far too long hurting business and jobs.

They've become nothing more than a political arm executing an extremist left-wing radical environmental agenda. Time for them to go.

Standing armies... buh-bye.

Exactly right! The militarization of so many government agencies arming them to the teeth needs to be un-done.

It is time for revamping the auto regs and the appliance regs. Both our autos and our appliances are crippled by the regs.

Help property owners reclaim their property from EPA totalitarians

To start with, plans for the 47th anniversary celebration are cancelled.

And call off Christmas!

No, I’ll bet it sees 47. Too much to dismantle in one year. Hopefully it will not reach the ripe old age of 50.

Good strategy ! Move so fast the media can’t focus on any one outrage for any length of time.

>> it will turn into a monster.

At least 30 years ago, it was not uncommon to have an EPA raid with heavy arms against small industry based on erroneous information.
