Right. That’s when you start shooting, not when you have a conversation with the bad guy. Even if, as in the Ferguson case, the bad guy has no weapon but is charging towards you, you have to shoot.
So true. Even 10 yards is close - even for somebody armed with a pistol on the receiving end. As that is only about 2-3 steps, it would take only a fraction of a second more for somebody with a knife to close that increased gap. In most cases, reaction time and shock would eat it up.
