Trump invites Philippine president who called Obama a 'son of a b****' to visit the White House

President-elect Donald Trump extended an offer to Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte to visit the White House next year, an aide to the foreign leader says.

Christopher Go, a special adviser to Duterte, says the president-elect and the Philippine leader had a 'very engaging, animated' talk today that lasted more than seven minutes.

Duterte lost out on a bilateral meeting with President Barack Obama this fall after calling him a 'son of a b****'.

The Philippine president has professed a kinship with Trump, whose cursing on the campaign trail raised eyebrows more than once. Duterte also ran on an anti-establishment and populist platform, winning the presidency in his country after a record turnout among voters.

A readout of the meeting provided by Trump's campaign early Friday evening did not mention the White House invitation.

'President Rodrigo Roa Duterte of the Philippines offered his congratulatory wishes to President-elect Trump,' it said.

'In their conversation, they noted the long history of friendship and cooperation between the two nations, and agreed that the two governments would continue to work together closely on matters of shared interest and concern.'

Go told Reuters Duterte invited Trump to attend the Association of South East Asian Nations (ASEAN) when it is held in the Philippines next year, as is customary for the U.S. president.

Duterte said last month, a day after Hillary Clinton's unexpected defeat, that he doesn't want to 'quarrel' with the United States anymore because Trump won. He has continued to opine on U.S. 'hypocrisy' since.

'I would like to congratulate Mr. Donald Trump. Long live,' he said last month, according to CNBC. 'We are both making curses. Even with trivial matters we curse. I was supposed to stop because Trump is there. I don't want to quarrel anymore, because Trump has won.'

The Philippians version of DJT, that is, its President.

I would much rather see an “America is the Great Country on Earth and We Lead Charging Forward!”

And maybe do a Moe to all the people obama bowed down to like a b.tch.

One reason politicians should be diplomatic to all people at all times is, they may be dealing with that person at some point. It’s hard to call, say, Putin, childish and “on the wrong side of history,” and then ask him to let you run supplies across territory he controls. It was amazing to read what the super-intelligent, nuanced, soft-diplomacy Obamanites called foreign leaders. It was silly to call leaders names and denigrate them. Trump understands this and he is working to build bridges.

Posters on FR said that Trump should get rid of Speaker Ryan for the things Ryan said during the campaign. I predicted that if Trump won Speaker Ryan would suddenly be his most ardent supporter and Trump would accept him as such. Yep. Score another one for Trump.

He didn’t call Obama that name. He said he would call the reporter a name if the reporter made a certain statement.

There are three avowed nationalists on the world scene at the same time; Putin, Trump and Duterte.

They represent the majority of the souls on planet earth that desire and will fight for individual freedom and dignity.

They do not want to conquer and they are all aware of the subversive, conquering entities in finance and financial enslavement.

All they want is peace and prosperity for their own nations and the powers elite don't like them.

.Expect WW3

We all know what happens when one combines nationalism with socialism. And Duterte is a bit too close to the socialists.

I don't interpret his desire to protect his nation as a socialist attitude.

Duterte has come up through the ranks and has succeeded at every level and he, like Trump, never wanted to be President.

He was forced by the people (actually, some Philippine Patriots just started advertising him and the people ran with the ball) and Trump was content to be a successful real estate magnate, but his own patriotism and common sense wouldn't allow him to sit quietly anymore.

Duterte is using the means available to him to rid his country of obstacles interfering with the Philippines becoming a free(er) and happy nation (they ARE that picturesque "happy people" you envision) and Trump is using the means available to him to eliminate the obstacles interfering with OUR freedom and "pursuit of happiness".

I think both men have a healthy dose of incurable idealism

"Obama is the son of an unmarried woman. By definition, he is a son of a bitch."

Hmmm... I don't think that's quite right. But it does, by definition, make him a bastard.

I strongly object to BO’Bs being called a ‘world leader’.

No individual would find it possible to lead the world while admitting to lead from behind.

As for the cursing...BOB’ is much worse at curse than The
Philippine President. Calling a person an SOB is not uncommon though in this instance, if the term unlikable bastard had been used the fact would have been more truthful.

Hotel and condo developer demonstrates more thorough grasp of geopolitics than Obambi. May the unemployment lines in DC be as long as the list of people forced into Obama care.

I wasn’t talking about any alleged desire to protect his nation. Pandering to China is certainly not conducive to such protection. Invoking Adolf is most definitely socialist.

Yes!
And maybe Mr Trump needs some stickers for his phones, OFFICE OF THE PRESIDENT ELECT.

And a lowly coat holder, to walk around holding up a pizza cardboard so inscribed.

Leaders come and go but the strategic value of the Philipines was immense for 75 or more years until Obama managed to wreck it. Glad Trump is fixing it before they become a satellite of China.

Obama is the son of an unmarried woman.

By definition, he is a son of a bitch.<<<<<<<<

Better check your dictionary. Unmarried women who produce children outside of marriage have several other names, but bitch isn’t one of them.

A bitch is a female dog.

This is why I have no revulsion toward certain speech. Most of it is ignorantly misused...including the F word.
