ASHEVILLE, NC - A man charged with setting fires in western North Carolina told authorities he did it out of boredom.
In court documents, U.S. Forest Service agent Brian Southard says Keith Mann of Franklin told him he set two fires in Macon County because "I was just bored."
Media outlets report Mann also said he "wanted to see something burn" and didn't have much to live for after his wife left him. The 49-year-old was arrested Wednesday and charged with destroying real property by means of fire.
The fires started Oct. 27 and Nov. 22 and burned 16 acres.
Southard says he went to Mann's home after listening to a 911 call from Mann reporting the second fire.
Mann is in Buncombe County jail without bond. He has requested a public defender.

So imagine you have a vacation cabin, you haven’t been there in months, you get there, you open the lid to the toilet and uh-oh someone forgot to flush, that’s not a pretty sight, that’s not a pretty smell.
That’s how I felt yesterday when I learned of a defeat I didn’t previously know of, in NC’s “non-partisan” State Supreme Court race, a rat beat a Republican Justice and they will now have the majority 4-3. So in addition to stealing the Governorship, they stole the court.
But some hopeful news, Republicans called a special session of the state leg to try and take my advice and kneecap the new rat Governor before he takes office. Looking to pass bills to take away his power to appoint members of the board of elections, I’m not intimately familiar with the board’s workings but article says that means it would be tied 4-4 with the chairmanship rotating on an annual basis, GOP in election years!
Another bill would require State Senate confirmation for his cabinet picks, and another would make Supreme Court races partisan to make it harder for rat bastards to win them.

They should put a 4-5-6 year “waiting period” on new arrivals being allowed to vote. All states should do this actually.

Oh, I’m >>VERY<< deliberate on what I model the fix for our country on. No satire at all.
They should quickly move on this and have Gov. McCrory quickly sign off. I absolutely believe Cooper stole this race and they should make his single term as miserable as possible. Even better, continue investigating the chicanery and impeach his ass for Lt. Gov. Forest.
