The problem with the modern media, of all sources, is the bandwidth exceeds the ability to discriminate. In the same fashion of the truism that goes “The squeaky wheel gets the grease!”, it appears that the fringe idiots make the news because they are like car-wrecks, they capture the attention in a bad type of way. It appears that with their extremity, they crowd out the more sane and less-toxic commentators.
The irony here is that if these fanatics usurp the attention span, then the assumption naturally follows that they are mainstream. The DANGER is that if the assumption is that they are fanatics, we miss seeing that they ARE THEIR MAINSTREAM and is quite dangerous!
I’ve had the opportunity to see 64 years of life, and I’m still counting .... as of this moment.
My ‘exposure’ to the mohammedan mindset began in 1968 on the television news. It went from ‘exposure’ to a darn-glad-I’m-alive experience in 1972, in downtown Bangkok, supported by a lot of reports emanating from my shortwave radio that year.
Through all these years, the examples, and further experiences, have done nothing to dilute the aggregate experience or wisdom acquired.
That includes anything oozing forth from an SJW!!
This past 20 years has been an eye opener for me. I never thought I’d see students come to class so drunk they veered into desks as they stumbled down the aisles. I never thought I’d see my friends who were black become suspicious of me because I’m not or my hispanic friends tell me they could no longer be my friends as they were working to “free” TX, NM, AZ and CA from the yoke of the white people. I never thought I’d see 1-3% of our population be treated any differently than the 98% because they thought they ‘looked’ different. I never thought I’d see such a blatant disdain, maybe hatred, toward people who were pursuing their own paths and not ‘bothering’ anyone else.
What and where and who is fomenting this mental illness? If life is so bad in the USA then supporting groups should help the truly unhappy go where they would be happier.
For example, I would suggest Liberia where the energy of black people could assist that country in achieving their goals. Clearly there is nothing in the USA that makes many blacks happy. Black lives do matter but so does mine.
If a person is LGBorT who gives a rats ass? I don’t. They didn’t choose and they are, frankly, just as talented, sensitive, etc as anyone else. Since we are no longer a nation of God admirers who think God has condemned the LGBTers, who is stoking this fire?
I’d like to know before I kick the bucket.
