Senators crafting bill to limit deportations under Trump Democratic and Republican members of the Senate Judiciary Committee are working on legislation that would limit deportations if President-elect Donald Trump repeals President Obama’s executive orders on illegal immigration.

Senate Democratic Whip Dick Durbin (Ill.) and Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), both members of the panel, are crafting a bill to shield children living in the country illegally from being deported if they grew up in the United States and have stayed out of trouble.

The bill is likely to have the support of another Republican on the committee, Sen. Jeff Flake (Ariz.). He was a member of the so-called Gang of Eight that put together the comprehensive immigration reform bill that passed the Senate in 2013.

Trump has vowed to repeal Obama’s executive orders that halted deportations for people who came to the country illegally at a young age, as well as deportations of the parents of citizens and lawful permanent residents.

Lawmakers are worried that rescinding those orders would pull the rug out from hundreds of thousands of young people whose parents immigrated to the country illegally. Many of them may have to drop out of school, lose their jobs or face deportation.

Durbin and Graham say they are especially vulnerable because th

Thank you! Truly it’s not about the children as you so beautifully pointed out, it’s all about the money!

This is why Trump said tonight he is going to need our help.

CNN was discussing this power of the people. We’ve got it. They were saying we have power with our senators, etc., and that Reagan did the same thing— he enjoined the people, going over the media, directly to the people.

This is what a leader does. It’s what we haven’t seen since Reagan. We elect needs and political hacks.

I love the way the Hill describes the Dream Act as “legislation.” Hello. It never passed. Even by a Dem controlled lame-duck Congress. It was “proposed legislation.” Thus the overreaching executive order that spat in Congress’s face.

I thought bills were supposed to originate in the house? Revenue (tax) bills must originate in the House.

Wouldn’t President Trump have to sign something like that before it could take effect?

We need to get rid of Graham. He is going to be a thorn in Trump’s side. Graham hasn’t changed a bit and Trump needs to keep a close eye on Graham and those he would work with to hurt Trump’s agenda.

Sadly, Graham just got re-elected, not all that long ago, in South Carolina.

We always huff and puff our frustration to get these trouble makers out of office, but rarely do we out here in the hinterland succeed, because “all politics are local”.

I feel the same about Paul Ryan, and he is re-elected as Speaker! Yikes!

“Dead in the House, go for it Lindsay smoke out the Rinos”

Exactly right! No time like the present for President Trump to count noses in the Senate and formulate plans for the “demise” of any backstabbers.

Turban Durbin loves to hate the US (on behalf of his Islamic buddies) and will do what it takes to see it fall.
