I have a feeling they should have started this push a bit earlier. Not thinking it is going to be implemented.

If compulsory service were instituted with follow on mandatory reserve time up to age 50, a Draft wouldn’t be necessary. Much like the IDF or Swiss programs. Extend the military mission to include a homeland functions and call it a well regulated militia.
