Mexico's ambassador to the U.S. is warning President-elect Trump that building a wall on the southwestern U.S. border would hurt the environment.

"We fear that there is going to be consequences regarding environmental issues," Carlos Manuel Sada Solana, Mexico's ambassador to the U.S., said in an interview with the Arizona Republic
.
.
.
Sada on Wednesday warned that if the Trump administration forces Mexico to pay for the border wall by trying to tax remittances, there are "legal issues" at stake. "[I]f that is one of the alternatives, we will find out what we have to do in that case.

There must have been some very strong words when Mr Trump made his visit to Mexico, as these guys are terrified now.

I'm pretty sure that President-elect Trump's reputation preceded him.

We now have a desal plant in Carlsbad CA. It took 13 years. First they had administrative hearings and all the EV groups came out of the woodwork. Then after the coastal commission, the city, the county and the state approved it, the EV groups went to court and got a second bite of the apple. Same people that got shot down at the administrative hearings.

It’s like the death penalty. They die of old age and not by th needle.

Have you ever seen Mexico City. Clean up that toxic environment and you can spew. This is just like Jorge Ramos continually lecturing Americans about how horrible our country is but refuses to repatriate to his home country and advocate cleaning that basket case up. He knows if he tried that in Mexico he’d get kidnapped, tortured, and then killed.

The enemy still can’t even imagine the new reality — that Trumtp won’t even take time to tweet back at the tricks out of the tired old playbook.

Mexico: Trump's border wall would harm the environment

Mexico dumps raw sewage into the Pacific Ocean. Since when does Mexico care about pollution? Oh yeah, since Trump was elected.

The same Mexico that allowed thousands of Co-60 (radioactive) pellets to contaminate Juarez, Chiahuahua, and finished consumer products distributed throughout the USA in the 1980’s?
Yep, I think that’s the one.

if one has ever been inside Mexico’s interior one already knows that environmental pollution is of no concern to those people. And yes, they are bringing their filthy/trashy living mindset with them into this country. We need the wall just to keep them from trashing our own country.

Nice angle to try to work.

It also injures fluffy woodland creatures. And butterflies. Don't forget the pretty butterflies. And clouds. And sunsets. And helpless, mewing kittens.

“Environmental Danger” is the last response of scoundrels. Right after “It’s for the children.”

Couldn’t say it better!

I still think the wall should be built on the MEXICO side of the border! Why should we block access to the Rio Grande to US citizens.

Well, it hurts the Mexican environment in that it keeps the criminal debris on the right side of the border.

It does seem like the best solution. they can pay for the wall with land if need be.

Yes, I believe him. All of that extra grease staying in Mexico would harm their environment.
