Howard Schultz stepping down as Starbucks CEO (hated Christians/Republicans)

Starbucks Chairman and CEO Howard Schultz will leave his post as the company's chief executive, the company said Thursday.

Schultz will become the company's executive chairman, and current President and COO Kevin Johnson will become Starbucks' next CEO.

The changes will take place on April 3, the company said.

Starbucks shares dipped more than 3 percent in after-hours trading following the news of the planned leadership transition.

"As I focus on Starbucks next wave of retail innovation, I am delighted that Kevin Johnson — our current president, COO, a seven-year board member and my partner in running every facet of Starbucks business over the last two years — has agreed to assume the duties of Starbucks chief executive officer. This move ideally positions Starbucks to continue profitably growing our core business around the world into the future," Schultz said in a news release.

He can't help himself - leftism is his religion. Even if his behavior tanks the stock price, he doesn't care. They all think this way. Kelloggs, PepsiCo, Target, etc.

Starbuck’s coffee tastes burnt to me. I think they do it on purpose to encourage people to buy higher costing and sweetened coffees.

Contrary to many rumors that float around the internet and surface every once in a while, Starbucks has historically supported our troops. Donates many 10s of thousands pounds of coffee to our troops.

Their firearms policy is decent as well. It is basically "follow whatever the local laws are".

Can't really stand their coffee, but they get a bum rap a lot of time on conservative sites, much of which is undeserved.

So he can focus on even more pretentious foo-foo coffee shops.

Someone needs to start “One Buck Coffee” and run Starbucks out of business.

I get my coffee at WAWA. Starbucks is on my way to work and WAWA is two blocks out of the way but, I’m ok with that.

Will need to see what the next CEO does. I might actually stop boycotting them.

God laughs.

Starbucks, a leftist secularist corporation, is the meeting place of hundreds of thousands of Christians seeking fellowship and discipleship in groups of two or three.

And they’re paying my daughter as she works through Christian college. She’s also getting a fat 401k. Thanks guys.

Normally I’d say they peaked, but there are plenty of examples where a founder retires and the business continues to win share.

Politically, Schultz may be a leftist ass, but he not only built the business, but he also retired before, and when it flagged, rebuilt it. A business phoenix.

I have this feeling that Schultz may have stepped down just before the Trump Administration starts asking questions about whether certain large corporations worked closely with the Democratic National Committee....

Starbuck’s perks the nastiest coffee in the USA. Who buys that stuff?

Not me. I had a cup about 7 years ago and determined the severe indigestion and $$$$ wasn't worth it.

I worked at Starbucks many years ago.

The reason for the burnt flavor is the attempt to stretch the beans to make more cups of coffee.

Peet’s coffee costs about 12 cents a cup. Starbucks costs about 8 cents a cup.

It’s all about the money.
