They say Mattis is the “break glass in case of emergency” guy, and I believe it. This means Trump is serious about destroying ISIS quickly.

Love Mattis.

I’m very concerned about the “waiver”, though. Does anybody here actually KNOW details about who has to do what, when?

The Democrats will be 100% against, just because. In the Senate, there will be a butthurt caucus who will not dare to oppose Trump openly, but who very well may hide behind some procedural motion or other obstacle to stall “until the nomination has a full hearing” or some other such BS.

For that matter, can the Armed Services Committee of the Senate even HOLD hearings on the nomination unless and until the “waiver” passes?

Pearl is for faggots. Patton had an ivory handled sidearm.

.
Imagine if MacArthur had become president instead of Ike!

There would be no communism or socialism problems, nor would there have ever been any nuclear proliferation.

The Korean war would have actually have been won outright, Red China would have quickly died on the vine like an unwatered tomato.

I was 7 years old, going on 8 when the 1952 GOP convention was held. Even at that tender age, it was apparent to me that Mac was the candidate of choice.

My father had spent WW II in the pentagon, preparing “orders” for various operations in both Europe and the Pacific, and knew much about most of the generals.

He had nothing but praise for Mac and Patton, and would practically spit when he said Ike.

He predicted at the time that if Ike were to become President, there would be no end to wars, because it was the only way our economy could function under men who espoused such high taxes as Truman and Eisenhower.

He nailed it.

Congress doesn't need to repeal the law. They can simply issue a waiver, instead.

So Congress can waive laws now?

If this is not a provision of this specific law, but rather a general assertion of power, this is going to be tied up in the courts for years.

Does anybody here actually know the facts?
