As far as the Carrier thing, I hope his fix was what he promised: Hit them with a 35% tariff for all products entering the US.
I get the idea that Carrier may be staying for a lot more incentive than punishment - things like extra tax breaks, etc.
And the idea that Carrier has 1000 employees at this location seems low to me. If it’s a remote manufacturing building, then I wouldn’t consider their leaving “Carrier leaving the US”. So I have to assume that this is the headquarters.
1000 people create all of the Carrier products that we all know and love ? Really ?
Are their manufacturing facilities already outside of the US ?
Carrier is sub to UTX.
Carrier was gonna save 65m a year in moving those two plants to mexico.
UTX has something like 54B, <thats a B, in defense contracts etc.
Simple arithmatic.
Trump to UTX: Nice little Defense contracts you have there. Be a shame if anything happened to them.
as far as just a quickie recap of the economic impact of saving 1,000 Carrier jobs on the Indiana economy:
$26.00 per hour x 1,000 employees x 40 hours per week = $1,040,000 payroll per week.
x 50 weeks/year = $52,000,000
economic impact figures that money is turned 6-7 times for a total spending of $338,000,000 per year in Indiana.
by saving only 1,000/ 26 an hour jobs resulting in buying grocerys, autos, appliance, clothes and then those business doing the same will have a massive impact on that area.
imagine similar results/impact with Ford in Kentucky.
that is only in one week & he’s not even in office.
MAGA train rollin through Indiana & Kentucky.
Who will be next?
Ankle biting naysayer?
LOL, with respect, the view is better of the tree if you back up 100 yards.
