More than 2,000 veterans expected to form human shield at ND pipeline protest

CANNON BALL, ND--More than 2,000 U.S. military veterans plan to form a human shield to protect protestors of the Dakota Access Pipeline project near a Native American reservation in North Dakota, organizers said, just ahead of a federal deadline for activists to leave the camp they have been occupying.

It comes as North Dakota law enforcement backed away from a previous plan to cut off supplies to the camp--an idea quickly abandoned after an outcry and with law enforcement's treatment of Dakota Access Pipeline protestors increasingly under the microscope.

Veterans Stand for Standing Rock, a contingent of more than 2,000 U.S. military veterans, intends to go to North Dakota by this weekend and form a human wall in front of police, protest organizers said on a Facebook page.

So, here's the take from a LA Sheriff on what's actually going on. Rather different from the media narrative!

I was extremely privileged in the last several days to have the opportunity to travel to North Dakota as President of the National Sheriffs' Association to see firsthand the protest and the response thereto to the Dakota Access Pipeline Project near the Standing Rock Sioux Reservation about 25 miles south of Bismarck.

Lol. I think you get the point. . Detonating propane tanks and Molotov cocktails is not protesting. It’s violent rioting. That’s why they are moving The protestors to the camp by Dec 5.

“It might conceivably be about promiscuous left-wing chicks.”

Uh, yeah, but what does all of that promiscuity actually promise? In my book, it promises STDs after the party.

The contention of the Native American protestors is that the land is really theirs and was taken away from them.

The land may have private owners now, but it was promised to the Sioux in 19th Century treaties that were broken.

Reminds me of Cliven Bundy saying the land is his in Nevada because it was his family’s generations ago and not the federal government’s.

The Leftist protestors are there in abundance, too.

They have other motives including their hatred of capitalism driving them.

You post about Globalism.

Nigel Farage speaks of Corporatism being the problem with big business, big banks and big government teaming up to create a system across the borders of sovereign nations to benefit them and hurt small business owners and individuals.

Farage even says we don’t have a Capitalist system in Western nations anymore, its descended into Corporatism.

When the Lefties get all angry about big business and big banks, they may not be barking up the wrong tree, but their militant tactics only turn people off.

Dr. Martin Luther King advocated a strict code of nonviolent civil disobedience. He led some good nonviolent protests but the eventual descent into violence doomed the Civil Rights Movement and gave way to the enslavement of millions with the welfare state of the Great Society.

Dear Rock,

I have more ‘skin’ in the game than a lot of veterans.
I am a bona fide halfbreed.

Dear patro,

I’ve been obeying the law as a veteran, and have made it to the time I declare ‘I’m retired from the private sector.’

Dear Wyrd,

re: ‘(remember the commie Vietnam protestors). ‘

Yes, I remember a certain naval officer Kerry, that spoke before Congress as a leader of “Veterans against the war”.
(another Communist organization)

You are asking a rational person rational questions.

The answer is obvious, unless one is irrational, which many of these protesters are. I imagine the mix of protesters is made up of hippies, Burning Man fans, guys trying to get laid, paid anarchists, and FBI agents.

Yuri Bezmenov explained it almost 30 years ago.

" I know that intelligence gathering looks more romantic.... That's probably why your Hollywood producers are so crazy about James Bond types of films. But in reality the main emphasis of the KGB is NOT in the area of intelligence at all. According to my opinion, and the opinions of many defectors of my caliber, only about 15% of time, money, and manpower is spent on espionage as such. The other 85% is a slow process which we call either ideological subversion, active measures, or psychological warfare. What it basically means is: to change the perception of reality of every American that despite of the abundance of information no one is able to come to sensible conclusions in the interest of defending themselves, their families, their community, and their country.

The result? The result you can see ... the people who graduated in the 60's, dropouts or half-baked intellectuals, are now occupying the positions of power in the government, civil service, business, mass media, and educational systems. You are stuck with them. You can't get through to them. They are contaminated. They are programmed to think and react to certain stimuli in a certain pattern [alluding to Pavlov]. You cannot change their mind even if you expose them to authentic information. Even if you prove that white is white and black is black, you still can not change the basic perception and the logic of behavior. "
