“I’ll buy generic frosted flakes from ALDI.”

Just make sure Kellogg’s doesn’t co-pack it.

We are officially done with Kellogg in our household and signed the petition! Not that I bought Kellogg before - sweet and horrible. The appeal of cereal has always eluded me.

Kind of ironic, since Dr. Kellogg himself was a notorious teetotaler and purveyor of quack health advice.

I’ve not used brand name much of anything, in years. The only side line of foods from Kellogg that I do occasionally use is Keebler Town House Crackers. I like the Aldi’s version, BUT they’re too tender and tend to come apart...break...as they’re removed from the cellophane wrapper. And, they tend to break very easily even when scooping a very tender dip. So, now and then I’ve allowed myself that name brand treat.

Anymore, most generics are every bit as good as the name brand, but some stores do contract with major companies to produce foods under that store’s label. For example, there are many times when I’ve purchased GV Butter only to find Land ‘O Lakes coupons in the boxes lol! And at one time, GV peanut butter was being produced by PeterPan...my least favorite peanutbutter. I despise sugar in my peanutbutter, and am not a fan of shortening instead of peanut oil.

Most of the time, I am very happy with Aldi’s brands, and in come cases, prefer them. Thank God we have Aldi’s here because I really miss them when I live in places where they don’t have stores.

I boycotted General Mills for some of their political stances...and also ATT. In fact, one time ATT sent me a check for $100 and I returned it. I told them why, and they didn’t like it one bit. My convictions are NOT for sale.

Most grains cause me health problems, even the off name ones. Even my dog has issues with some of the grains..allergies, vomiting, bloody stool...change the diet and she’s fine.

The problem is, I LIKE grains, seeds, nuts. Some of them don’t like me.

Breakfast cereals tend to cost around $5.00 for less than a pound of food. Steak and eggs are cheaper.

We stopped eating cereal many years ago and never looked back. Too many other tasty and good for you things to eat besides over processed animal food provided by a giant corporation - Soylent Green.

Yup. A lot of companies put out both a brand name and a generic\store chain name version of their food products. Same product - it’s six of one, half dozen of the other.
I can’t think of the last time I bought a Kellogg product.

Almost always get the generic food products unless there’s some observable difference. And sometimes the generic brand is better than the name brand.

For cereals, I like my oatmeal. Generic is fine.

“Owned by Kellogg. . . Keebler. . . Well-known brand Cheez-It crackers was part of this deal.”

Oh, dear. Just bought some Cheez-its yesterday. Well, they’re not especially good for me anyway. Guess I’ll stick to eating straight cheese. ;)

When it comes to any fad diet, it’s a good idea do a good amount of research.
e.g. for the Paleo diet trend -

Gee whiz, it’s CEREAL. We don’t need to know what your values are, Kellogg’s. Why so serious?

my letter to them....”I hear you are pulling all advertising from Breitbart.com as you feel they are to far to the right. Well since you feel that way (which is your right) I am going to pull all your products from our home and never purchase a Kellogg’s product again. I am sorry you felt the need to do this. You are in business to sell a product and since you now feel you must inject yourself in politics then I can only conclude you have gone to far to the left. “

We haven’t bought a Kellogg’s cereal in years, because they’re too expensive. We always buy the offbrand cereals.
