Apparently, the NEA line is that “charter” = “private” which is a complete distortion. Most of the successful charter schools in California are built around public schools that are opened to anyone via a voucher. The schools compete for students and if they don’t work the parents can move them to another school that does. Even if we grant that some of these are also private “for-profit” schools if the bottom line is better education at a lower cost where is the problem? Oh wait, it might put the lower performing teachers out of work and reduce the dues paid to the NEA. Now I get it.
All I care about is MSNBC doesn’t like her. That is an endorsement!!!!!
