Lock (A Magazine into the mag well), Load ( by depressing the bolt catch/release on both the M14/M1A and M16/M4 families of weapons....

Same with a pistol, excepting the slide release for the bolt catch/release.

Artillery may still be appropriately loaded and then locked.....

While we apparently have a different philosophies re carrying, I respect yours.

What really matters is that you (and I) are prepared to defend ourselves, our people, and even strangers. We may approach the mechanics differently, but it is the will that really matters.

BTW, please see the link in my tag — think you’ll appreciate it...

Depends where I am. But, I practiced racking the slide for a long time before I was fast enough to carry without one in the chamber.
Female btw

That’s another good topic for us ladies, where to carry. I have a few friends who carry in their purse. I much prefer on the body carry.

And while I’m at it, J Crew has some button down shirts out now for women that are cut a little looser and are divine for concealed carry.

I do exactly the same with my 226.

Had a Glock 23. Never could learn to shoot accurately with that “squeeze the sponge” trigger pull.

Please see #21.

Average gunfight is over before you can get that round chambered.... and respectfully, what is the purpose of carrying without one in the chamber?

Yes, with the safety on and properly holstered.

I made it to IDPA master with a G30. The only glock I carry is my G26 church gun, and it’s not chambered. Sometimes my summer carry is my Ruger SP101 in .357 and yes, it’s the snubby, and no, it doesn’t have a shaved hammer. I love my sigs. Accurate, beautiful (think equinox) and always go boom.

Makes sense looking at it that way. I usually think load (the mag) then chamber (a round). Just semantics. I guess if it was a musket we might be saying loaded, rammed, and cocked or some such mnemonic device.
