Largest all-female expedition braves Antarctica to fight inequality, climate change

By Umberto Bacchi

LONDON (Thomson Reuters Foundation) - The largest all-female expedition to Antarctica, comprising 76 scientists, is due to set sail from Argentina on Friday in a quest to promote women in science and highlight the impact of climate change on the planet.

The international team will brave sub-zero temperatures to undergo a 20-day bootcamp on the frozen continent aimed at developing their leadership skills and challenging male dominance of senior scientific roles.

Women make up only 28 percent of the world's researchers and are particularly under-represented at senior levels, the U.N. Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) says.

Yet greater female leadership is needed to fight climate change, which disproportionately affects women, according to Fabian Dattner, co-founder of the Antarctica initiative, Homeward Bound.

"Mother Nature needs her daughters," said Dattner, an Australian entrepreneur and leadership coach.

Libbers reach the South Pole. A hundred years after the men. And that makes them equal?

Well, if you are going to go to Antarctica, might as well go during the summer!

I bet the group went out and bought specialty designer clothes that cost in the tens of thousands for their Antarctic adventure that could have fed an entire village in another country for a year yet can’t understand why conservatives won’t work longer hours and pay more taxes to help the “poor immigrants” flooding into our country. I have a word for them - hypocrites...liberal hypocrites and rich at that which makes them a special class of stupid...

> “Mother Nature needs her daughters” NON-STOP PAGANISM! Absolutely disgusting!!! WHO is funding this nonsense???

When I read that I thought the exact same thing. I took many courses on investigating the occult when I was younger to understand the different belief systems I might encounter so I could understand what and how they think. I'd like to ask them what her name is. I expect Gaia, of course. And I might even draw a Wiccan or Enochian symbol or hand them an inverted flower them to let them know, I know what they are all about.

Sounds like the description on the inside front flap of a Crichton novel.

“And then things begin to go badly for the team.”

Polar pu$$y whipping now commences. Too bad they do not know that Global warming is over. Guess the polar pu$$y express did not get the memo: *********************************** http://www.lordmoncktonfoundation.com/ By Christopher Monckton of Brenchley The RSS global satellite dataset shows no global warming for 18 years 3 months. The actual warming since the United Nations’ climate panel first reported in 1990, compared to the average of all five major global temperature datasets, was half what it had predicted in that year with what it called “substantial confidence.” Even the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s upper-ocean heat content chart, when converted back to the ocean temperature change from which NOAA calculated it, shows ocean warming over the past decade at a rate equivalent to just 0.5 C⁰/century. Not exactly a climate crisis. Global sea-ice extent reached a satellite-era maximum late in 2014 – not that most mainstream news media reported that fact. Land area under drought has declined for 30 years. Patterns of flooding, of tropical cyclones and of extra-tropical storminess show little change. Sea level is barely rising: indeed, the GRACE gravitational-recovery satellites, the most precise method of measurement, actually showed sea level falling from 2003-2009. The new, simple climate model – which a physics undergrad can run on nothing more complex than a pocket calculator – has taken the world of climate science by storm. Of the seven major science papers in the first edition of the relaunched Science Bulletin, the paper has received 3500 downloads from the journal’s website – an unusually high number for a scientific paper. Comments about the paper are appearing all over the internet. A copy is to be sent to the Pontifical Academy of Sciences, where an encyclical on climate change is being prepared on behalf of the Pope. Lord Monckton, a Knight of Malta, a former Editor of the UK Catholic newspaper The Universe, and an expert reviewer for the UN’s Fifth Assessment Report on the climate in 2013, said: "It is vital that the Pope should not lead the Church into another embarrassing Galileo moment by jumping on to the climate-change bandwagon just as the scientific wheels are falling off. Our paper marks the end of the climate scare."

OK!! Everybody pay attention!

Lesson for today:

1. The sun is 1,300,000 times as big as the earth.

2. The sun is a giant nuclear furnace that controls the climates of all its planets.

3. The earth is one of the sun’s planets.

4. The earth is a speck in comparison to the size of the sun.

5. Inhabitants of the earth are less than specks.

Study Question: How do less-than-specks in congress plan to control the sun?

“and challenging male dominance of senior scientific roles”

Well! There you go! A bunch of ugly man-hating bitches going out to show the world that men are inferior to their higher levels of masculinity and intellect. I’ll bet that they will prove GLOBAL WARMING is actually true no matter what and they find out and that Obama is truly the gift from God while they are there.

I would imagine that the heat of hate will keep them safe during the trip. However, I hope things don’t go wrong because it will take men to rescue them.

They say this crap, but never explain HOW it is possible that women could be at more risk than men. Duh!!

Gonna be a record breaking cold winter due to global warming.

You can bet, dollars to donuts, that there are competent and serious men running the boat that will get them there and back.

What is it they say... “Below 40 degrees South, there is no law. Below 50 degrees South, there is no God”. That is no place for amateurs to be running a boat.
