“You know what? I think we don’t really know,” Engelbrecht said of Trump’s allegation. “We put out a statement shortly after the President-elect’s comments came out, and we said that we support the belief that there could, in fact, have been millions of illegally cast votes, and we are doing tremendous amounts of research to try to get to some of those answers.”

What is disturbing is illegals already have a voice (votes) in the Electoral College.
The electoral college allows a vote for each US representative. The number of Reps a state has is based on the number of RESIDENTS, not CITIZENS in the state. Illegals count the same as citizens for House seats.
Now the whole “sanctuary city” issue is crystal clear.
The fact that Democrats mount legal challenges to any attempt to stop illegals from voting is all you really need to know.

I do believe you must show ID to register to vote.
Even in California.
I do not doubt however that tons of fraud goes on in the process.

There is a huge black market on “good” ID that you can use to get a DR license.
california illegal aliens are legally given official California Drivers licences by the state of California. That becompes their ID to register to vote, done at the same DMV office at the same time.

Federal courts don’t have any problem preventing states from requiring voter ID.

CA resident here. They don’t check. No ID at the polls, no SSN required to register to vote. The system is designed to enable voter fraud and non citizen voting.
It all makes sense now. NPR states that Donald Trump lies all the time, and for an example they mentioned “millions of illegal votes.” Their proof? The NYT said so. So, if an illegal gets a driver’s license, registers to vote, and then votes, it’s “legal” because the NYT said so. Same with the dead, I suppose.
I realize there’s no ID required to vote, but I do believe you must show birth certificate or residency papers to get a drivers license. And I do believe to register you MUST show your ID or give DL number.
I just checked the California SOS site. New voters must present a valid California DL or ID to register to vote.
To get a CA drivers license you must provide birth certificate or some other form of paperwork that establishes your birth place or legal resident status.
But as I have said, I am guessing not much checking goes into the registration or verifications process.
I’d bet good money that thousands of votes are cast illegally in the state.
I say clear out the voter rolls after every congressional election. Everyone must re-register in person with the county supervisor of elections.
