The problem here is that, if I understand correctly, they are going to pass a law making something that was illegal, definitely illegal. Will we need another law eventually confirming just how illegal, illegal really is?

Conversly, according to some, if the state and/or city were to have a referendum and vote to make sanctuary cities legal then it is it no longer a federal issue and they can’t intervene because...... of Federal Amendments. Or something.
