I disagree. Transportation in the US is inherently interstate, and the Federal government has had a role since 1811. The East Coast in particular is composed of geographically smaller states, too much of the movement of people, goods, and services crosses state lines to keep the Federal government out of it.

Chou evidently has Trumps confidence. We will see how it plays out, but this pick does not fill me with concern.

What Trump intends to do on transportation is NOT going to be Conservative.

Just make your peace with that fact now.
Small price to pay to avoid the Clinton regime.

What you say is true, and the Constitution does empower the Federal government to build “post roads”. But we got along nicely without a Department of Transportation until about 1965.
