Thanksgiving is prime time for food poisoning. For most people, it's just an upset or gassy stomach and they usually attribute it to overeating. But think about it. Most people's ovens only have so much capacity so they cook dishes hours before the meal and leave them sitting on countertops covered in tinfoil for much of the day. Even after the meal, the food tends to sit out longer because there's only so much room in the refrigerator. It happens to most of us.
Lot of bacteria in food around Thanksgiving. A lot of bacteria.
Not all bacteria is bad for you. But some of it is.
I'm a stuffing in the bird kind of guy but that has it's risks. They say to bake stuffing in a casserole dish but that's not my style. I jam that stuffing into the turkey at both ends and by the time the turkey is cooked, that stuffing is literally exploding out of the turkey cavity. It is so good though.

The problem wasn’t the Thanksgiving dinner. The problem was the community.

Probably the stuffing. If you don’t get it hot enough inside the bird it can have deadly bacteria.

They also declined to provide any demographic information regarding the eight patients.Only the racially obsessed San Francisco Chronicle would give a damn about the races of the victims. And you know they would have asked the question ten different ways, growing more visibly frustrated with each refusal to answer.

How sad; if they came from some sort of residential facility some of them may have been quite frail to begin with.

Keep it covered clean and cool. I’m out of the chair and covering and putting about the leftovers before dessert is served. I just can’t help it.
The first time Mr. Mercat and I had his parents over for Thanksgiving he and I both were on the verge of throwing up all through the dinner. We must have not washed our hands properly while preparing the bird. No one else got sick and we managed to hold on but it was not pleasant.

No chance at my Thanksgiving. The Nephew hosted his first Thanksgiving and decided he would try his new Turkey fryer for the first time. After about 55 minutes I told him he really should pull that bird out and check the temp (He wasn't going to check it for another 10 minutes) 210 DEGREES in the Thigh, 200 in the breast and a few burnt skin areas. The dark meat was close to Turkey jerky, the breast surprisingly not to bad. Fortunately we had a Honey Baked ham as well, but the Turkey still got gobbled up.
