Reports are tha off-duty campus cop was at the location doing some class business & observed the incident and took action against the man.

A quicker response by police than Columbine.
Interesting that the building next door had a fire alarm pulled about 20 minutes before the start of the attack. There were police onsight as the attack started because of the alarm. Seems highly coincidental.
