The social media website Twitter is facing criticism for its recent decision to grant verification to the Muslim Brotherhoods official mouthpiece, which routinely writes in favor of violent terror acts and disseminates anti-Semitic propaganda.
The Muslim Brotherhoodwhich has been designated as a terror outfit and banned by Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Russia, and elsewhereoperates in the online sphere via a website known as Ikhwan Web, which serves as the Brotherhoods official English-speaking feed.
Twitter recently granted verification to Ikhwan Webs online feed, giving the organization an air of legitimacy that leading lawmakers and experts described as reckless given the Brotherhoods history of supporting violent jihad and terrorism.

I wish “social media” be given “common carrier” status, eliminating both pressure & temptation to censor anyone. The recent push for silencing “fake news” et al is historically worrisome.
I support “social media” implementing some way to verify who is the “real” X Y Z, whether we approve of him & his message or despise him with all our being. While I may prefer Ikhwan Web reach room temperature via deli slicer, I’d like to know that any tweet attributed to him is, in fact, verified as _his_ drivel.
Users who don’t agree, need to boycott that thing.

Look up GAB.ai. It is the new uncensored Twitter. But MUCH better. Twitter is a verbal ghetto compared to GAB. There is a waiting list because they are still growing. I love it, no more Twitter for me.
Friend of mine on Twitter in Syria just told me this morning that Twitter is suspending all Kurd Twitter accounts. Guess I should not be surprised.
