Trump has the authority to open those files for his own satisfaction about Obama’s father.
I think he should keep the deal in place for now assuming that the following happens.
1. Raul Castro gets on TV and says: “I apologize for the totalitarian activities of the regime of my late brother, myself, and others. This has not been fair to the Cuban people. I’ve asked the United States government to lead a full fair and open investigation on these matters and to oversee all levels and agencies of our country’s government until the investigation is complete. In my last act of totalitarianism I call upon all of the Cuban people and world to fully cooperate with their investigation. I accept full responsibility for my actions.”
2. Obama takes a little time off of his golf game right now to ensure that Loretta Lynch and John Kerry immediately setup an investigative team that works out of the American embassy in Havana to conduct the investigation and make recommendations on reforms (particularly on the elections process) for the Cuban levels of government. They hold daily press conferences to do Q/A on questions that people have about any obstacles the team might be encountering from any rogue Cuban officials who may not be fully cooperating with the investigation.
3. Trump gets inaugurated and oversees this investigative team, the current deal, and the transitions needed towards normalizing relationships with Cuba.
Good deal!!! Those people have been stepped on, killed, jailed, absolutely no freedom...we need to help them, BUT only if Cuba has our interests combined, if not, bye bye...sorry we tried...the people there will have to start a revolution like we did...
