Do you really grow artichokes? I’ve never had one. Seems like lots of work for little reward.

You peel each "leaf" and dip it in melted butter. Then you peel off the "meat" with your teeth as you pass it through your mouth.

Delicious.

Some people dip it in mayo, but I'm a melted butter man...

MMMmmmmm you’re making me crave them by just talking about it. And yes, butter (with a little lemon) is the BEST.

Yep, mayo mixed with mustard.

My latest is “sandwich Pal” horse radish sauce.

And then you get to the “heart”, that’s wonderful. I am neither a mayo nor a butter man, I like ‘em straight!

I always liked them best with just a hint of garlic in the butter.
Gotta use real butter and fresh garlic.

I prefer pesto and various other seasonings mixed into the melted butter, but yeah, melted butter is the way to go. Heaven.

Melted butter with a dash of lemon juice is my choice - just enough to taste but not overpower.

Was stationed in Southern Italy in late '70s and they grew a lot of artichokes there.
