We are a union of states. Each state and D.C. have their own separate elections. Whoever wins the popular vote in each state wins the state. We are not just one centralized nation; we are a collection of different “colonies” that decided to join together under some very specific rules and each of which still have separate interests and the right to pick the leader it wants.

These leftists essentially want to abolish the concept of the “United States” and our federal system of government. The more they illegitimately concentrate power in D.C. and try to stamp out any differences and independence across the United States, the less freedom and power of self-determination people have.

Yes, it's notable that the name of the country is "United States". We are not one monolithic nation but rather a union of states (with interests and values that vary considerably), and have been joined together only under the specific limitations provided by the Constitution.
