Patriarch Kirill, the leader of the Russian Orthodox Church, has said that U.S. President-elect Donald Trump is the only American politician to give Russians, and Christians, hope in successfully fighting off the Islamic State terror group.
Kirill made the remarks in an interview with Russia Today, translated into English, where he said that although he doesn't know Trump personally, he has been encouraged by his strong stance against terrorism.
"Based on what Mr. Trump said in the course of the election campaign, we can see that he does have the intention to establish a dialogue with Russia, including first and foremost when it comes to combating terrorism. That's good; it opens up new opportunities for cooperation, which is what I hope we're going to have in Russia-U.S. relations in order to tackle this," Kirill said.

And Obama gave ‘hope’ to the Jihad around the world.
What's the point? It's this: "in statecraft, the enemy of my enemy, despite his gross flaws, is my friend."
We allied with the USSR during WWII to defeat the axis powers. Many would argue, and probably rightly, that without the USSR we would not have defeated Germany.
Neither are Michigan and Ohio State.

That would be the New York Times, leading the Fake News assault on Western Culture that God hating Marxism (Communism) and Socialism are valid and workable philosophies and life in the USSR is a bed of roses.
Interestingly, both the Times and Russia have changed, Russia has freed herself of considerable Communist influence and control, with no small part of the credit belonging to President Ronald Reagan for giving them the choice (and encouragement) to do it.
The Times has progressed, too. They have upped the God hating propaganda by bringing on board lying radical Islam as an ally to destroy the historically unique American construct of Christian Liberty in a Republic.
Bravo Times, you one-upped your promotion and cover for Stalinist Marxism by bringing Islamic Terror on board.
Maybe President Trump can keep it inside the New York Times building.

I have thought the same for years.
That is actually a very true statement.
Now that they are a reportedly a Christian nation I'd much rather get along with them than the alternative. They are definitely a force to be reckoned with. The Left are crying about Trump getting along with them. I still fail to understand why that is such a bad thing as long as you keep your guard up.
My stepson, Russian by birth but naturalized American, lives in Russia, and tells me Russians are overjoyed at Donald Trump’s victory.
They truly hope for normalized relations with the USA.
The Patriarch’s speech sounds reasonable to me.

I am hoping Conservative White Christian Americans can have normalized relations with the USA, that might give the Russians even more hope.
