Green Party candidate Jill Stein has raised $5.15 million to pay for voting recounts in Wisconsin and Pennsylvania.
However, the clock is running out on the deadline to file the papers. Stein and her team have until 5 pm ET to challenge the results in Wisconsin. The deadline for Pennsylvania is Monday. She's also asking for more funds to file for Michigan, which is due to be filed Wednesday.

UPDATE: As of this posting she now has LESS than 45 minutes to get paperwork in order.
Please continue to report on the wailing and gnashing of teeth over at DU!
How do we know the paperwork hasn’t already been filed?
this has nothing much to do with any recounting, and a great deal to do with Soros&Co funneling money into Jill so she can continue to Shill communistic propaganda for the next four years
Does she really have a $3.5mm campaign DEBT still?
She needs $7 million now ,her Lawyers want MORE MONEY
I missed DU when they were sitting shiva after Liberation Day.
Is it not Central Time Zone there? If so, it is only 3:22 PM now.
$5.15 million which is going to gain them exactly what?
I mean, she hit Hillary but might as well have been Pat Paulson running for President....a few weeks ago, got passed by a van with “Jill Stein for President!” scrawled in shoe polish on every window aft of the steering wheel.
I can’t believe she won’t file.
Even Democrats would know there was something fishy if she doesn’t.
And I hope she does. Would like to see an audit of the vote and this is the best chance there is.
Because the Wisconsin TWITTER FEED has said it hasn't been filed yet.
5.5 million from Soros I’m sure....its not the little people...
Article states ET which is Eastern Time. So I guess it closes in WI at 4 PM local time.
Wisconsin is on central time. So they have until 6pm EST.
Article says 5 PM Eastern Time but according to your countdown clock it is 5 PM Central Time. Which is correct?
I’m sure there is a Prius with Jill Stein and a couple of lawyers in it speeding (snort, chuckle, hee hee) to the Wisconsin Elections Commission at this very moment.
Or Jill is at a realtor’s putting down cash for a nice beach house. Painted green, of course. For more than one reason.
Correct, central time. She has over an hour and a half yet to file.
The twitter link you provided from Wisconsin elections mentions 5pm with no time zone mention, so I am inclined to think the article is wrong, but we’ll know when the fat lady tweets.

WEC staff has been informed that the Jill Stein campaign for President of the United States is going to request a statewide recount. Attorneys for the Stein campaign have indicated that they will be filing a recount petition by the 5 pm deadline this Friday.
The Stein campaign will be required to pay for the entire estimated cost of a statewide recount before a recount will be ordered. We need your help in determining how much it will cost for you and your municipal counterparts to conduct this recount. It is recommended that you start looking at figures from the 2011 Supreme Court recount and cost projections that you or your predecessor put together for the Associated Press. One option is to look at the number of ballots that were recounted in 2011 and to extrapolate based upon the number of ballots counted in the presidential election.
There are numerous logistics to coordinate and we will continue to update you on a regular basis. We will be planning a teleconference for all county clerks to participate in and we will let you know that date early next week. For now please start to put together cost projections and respond to recounts@wi.gov once complete. To get familiarized with the recount procedures, please take a look at the recount manual. For any municipality selected to audit voting equipment, we will communicate shortly with those clerks selected to provide additional guidance on how to proceed given the likely statewide recount.
We know that this is not the type of news that you want to hear immediately before a holiday and after a very labor intensive fall election season. The Statutes permit any ballot candidate to request a recount regardless of the margin. Although we are certain that this is going to create numerous challenges and significant frustration, we thank you for your commitment to election administration in Wisconson.
