CNN)We wonder what the election of Donald Trump means for America. I suggest one thing it means is that educated Americans need to do a reset on what we mean by "politically correct." We need a new PC.
The simple fact is that a core constituency of white people just aren't going to "get it" the way the left wants them to. This is the case, for example, on race. The left wants white America to see itself as profoundly culpable, as the bad guy in the drama. For many black people, for instance, the very definition of black identity is enduring racist dismissal from whites. To claim that any other particular trait is "black" is considered stereotyping, as we are to see black people as endlessly diverse.
The one thing that doesn't count as a stereotype, which is thought to unite us all, is experiencing racism. Moreover, it is considered key to intellectual and moral engagement to be in eternal battle against the stain of racism in the American fabric.

The idea is not to cease battling racism, but to do it in a way that we can reasonably expect a populace of human beings to understand. Herewith, a new PC -- or, in current parlance, what it is to be "woke."
It is "woke" to understand that Trayvon Martin and so many other black people would be alive if they had been white.
It is "woke" to revile Republicans' attempt to disenfranchise as many black people as possible on the basis of a fallacious concern with virtually non-existent voter fraud.

I think it’s funny, sadly ironic, that Trayvon Martin and Michael Brown became poster boys for this black lives matter business; the poster boys for black men being shot for no reason.
The irony, lost on liberals, is that they both brought their demise on themselves, by their own voluntary actions.
Yet we are supposed to be sympathetic about an alleged pandemic of black men shot for no reason, by white cops, or white Hispanic neighborhood watch, and their examples are those who instigated the incidents which resulted in their deaths. Go figure. I don’t get the liberal logic here.
And the fact that the legal system did not find guilt in either case, is simply dismissed by the liberals, as more evidence of a racist society, a racist criminal justice system. The facts of the cases don’t seem to matter to liberals.
White people need to be victims, also. Wink,Wink.
PC doesn’t need a new version. It’s a cult and needs to die.
Do they really think the right would have been outraged and had a different reaction if the burglar thug Trayvon had been white and done the same exacct things?
Hell, no. I don’t care what color thugs are.
Which movement, after all, has managed to promote literal racial apartheid in the 21st century as a cure for - yep - racism? Which movement has managed to raise women's athletics toward parity and then clobber them by forcing inclusion of men who fantasize they are women? Which movement has managed to conflate honest immigrants who are the backbone of American society with criminal invaders who have no intention of assimilation? These are the follies of political correctness, and the cure is not doubling down on them.
More whites shot by cops than blacks every year.
More whites executed by the state each year than blacks.
Far more whites are victims of black attackers and murderers than the reverse.
We’re already there. They refuse to see it because it will never be enough for them.
Part of the problem is that the liberal mindset does not, for the most part, accept a right to self-defense. Especially for white males.
Negro, colored, Afro-American, black, African-American (hyphenated), African American (no hyphen), and in an endless stream, liberals imagine that the right label will sell their product. Now this delicate snowflake wants to replace the nonsense term “political correctness” with the nonsense word “woke”.
Trayvon Martin and so many other criminals of various irrelevant skin tones would be alive if they had been law-abiding. Why not promote policies that encourage work instead of those that leave young people with nothing to do but cause trouble?
If the real goal of the left were to avoid disenfranchising lawful voters, why not work together with conservatives to build voter ID laws with real teeth (felony, 10 year minimum prison term for voting illegally or other vote fraud) with free ID laws (a bookmobile-like roving government ID trailer that prints the same non-driver ID that government offices print and goes to every back corner in the state annually offering free ID to those who have none . . . but with checks on residence and citizenship)?
No, wrong answer. Real Americans are not rejecting big government because straight whites didn’t get to be victims too. We reject liberalism, socialism, and tyranny because we value freedom. Being a dependent loser is not something we wish to aspire to, or even to be “woke” to.
Because white people have bullet proof skin?
If someone is one top of you beating on you and you have a gun you are going to use it.

This article is saying nothing that liberals/Leftists haven’t been saying for decades, i.e.: that they’re right, and we conservatives just need to wake up and understand that they’re right.
I read in another article, by a moonbat, that it’s “exhilerating,” for Leftists to vaunt their moral superiority. The only downside [according to the author] is that the people being told how racist/evil they are have a tendency to go out and vote for the other party.
It will not be "woke" to call for reparations for abuses of black people committed eons ago, hoping that whites will cherish black Americans as human history's only people whose legacy permanently cripples them in the present.

‘Woke,’ is actually the term used by young Alt-righters to designate the light bulb going off in a liberal’s brain, marking the sudden shift to conservatism. The Left envies the high energy and boundless enthusiasm of this strata of Alt-righters, but they will never co-op their language. For Alt-righters it is a natural outgrowth of their culture and experiences. For the Left, it’s just artificially trying to appropriate what it lacks. They are doomed to fail.

A white guy beats up a white guy and gets shot? We’d never have seen it. It probably happened last night somewhere in the U.S., for that matter.
My white ass “woke” to the fact that whites built western civilization to the highest level ever enjoyed by humans and any person of color is invited to join us at any time, but I for one will not let our civilization be dragged down to the level of the liberal trying to placate a bunch of black or muslim racists.
