TRUMP FAMILY TRANSITION THREAD - Countdown week 8 (November 25-December 1, 2016)
Friends | November 25, 2016 | DollyCali

WELCOME TO THE TRUMP FAMILY TRAIN

TRANSITION. We are in the third week since the election until the Inauguration

SEVERAL picks so far. LOTS of speculation and misinformation along the way

This week the country loudly let the PEOTUS know mittens was not on most favored list. Trump let the media know they were NOT on his most favored list. A snark designer who helped keep MO tacky advised other designers to stay away from Melania professionally. We ate too much probably on Thanksgiving and we possibly weren't appreciative enough of the blessings in this life.

If we go to the kids in the big city for Thanksgiving, I have gone with daughter on Fri.

She has read all the ads, made her list and we run into store, get a particular item and run out, after paying, of course. Ha!

On to next store and repeat.

Daughter and her oldest daughter have been know to go at midnight when some stores would open, come home to take a nap and then go again. Crazy to me.

Took husband one year, 1st and last time he went.

Thanks LG - that was fun. He was good on F&F this a.m.

I watched the video that was on after the link you posted and that was fun, too. He’s really good.

The designer threat was preemptive. She knew her designs were inadequate so rather than be rejected, she resigned and fled the field

Morning DollyCali, thanks for the thread, and yes, there is a lot of misinformation floating around the net. I think the MSM media is starved for news about Trump and their camp is rationing it out........

A friend of mine posted the following story this morning. If this be true, then James Mattis is the kind of guy I want as SecDef.
*********
General Mattis on Christmas as Duty Officer:

A couple of months ago, when I told General Krulak, the former Commandant of the Marine Corps, now the chair of the Naval Academy Board of Visitors, that we were having General Mattis speak this evening, he said, “Let me tell you a Jim Mattis story.” General Krulak said, when he was Commandant of the Marine Corps, every year, starting about a week before Christmas, he and his wife would bake hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of Christmas cookies. They would package them in small bundles.

Then on Christmas day, he would load his vehicle. At about 4 a.m., General Krulak would drive himself to every Marine guard post in the Washington-Annapolis-Baltimore area and deliver a small package of Christmas cookies to whatever Marines were pulling guard duty that day. He said that one year, he had gone down to Quantico as one of his stops to deliver Christmas cookies to the Marines on guard duty. He went to the command center and gave a package to the lance corporal who was on duty.

He asked, “Who’s the officer of the day?” The lance corporal said, “Sir, it’s Brigadier General Mattis.” And General Krulak said, “No, no, no. I know who General Mattis is. I mean, who’s the officer of the day today, Christmas day?” The lance corporal, feeling a little anxious, said, “Sir, it is Brigadier General Mattis.”

General Krulak said that, about that time, he spotted in the back room a cot, or a daybed. He said, “No, Lance Corporal. Who slept in that bed last night?” The lance corporal said, “Sir, it was Brigadier General Mattis.”

About that time, General Krulak said that General Mattis came in, in a duty uniform with a sword, and General Krulak said, “Jim, what are you doing here on Christmas day? Why do you have duty?” General Mattis told him that the young officer who was scheduled to have duty on Christmas day had a family, and General Mattis decided it was better for the young officer to spend Christmas Day with his family, and so he chose to have duty on Christmas Day.

General Krulak said, “That’s the kind of officer that Jim Mattis is.”

The story above was told by Dr. Albert C. Pierce, the Director of the Center for the Study of Professional Military Ethics at The United States Naval Academy. He was introducing General James Mattis who gave a lecture on Ethical Challenges in Contemporary Conflict in the spring of 2006. This was taken from the transcript of that lecture.

You got that right.

Moochelle looked horrible in most of her clothes and I would always think, yikes, who is dressing her?

I wouldn’t be too proud of those designs.

You have a smart daughter - that’s the way to shop - in and out. There’s no way I’d be going anywhere at midnight - would be fast asleep, now early a.m. may be a different story.

I have a few ideas, but haven’t gotten lists from my sis, BIL and nephew yet. Will get clothes for my sis’s godsons (they’re like nephews to me) and my cousin’s daughters kids. Something little for one of my cousins and his wife. With the passing of my step-dad and aunt the last few months, don’t have as much to buy for this year, but it will still be quite a bit. Oops, almost forgot my 4-legged nephew - have to get him something good - he loves to stick his big nose in bags and pull out his treats - fun to see a big (85 lb) German Shepherd doing this - he is such a sweetheart and I love him so.

Thanks for this great tidbit, mergers and acquisitions over the years have taken away much of the competitiveness that once existed....

Also, I'm a bit selfish. :-)

If I buy the gift cards at my local grocery store I can get 4 times gas points. One time I had $1.60 off per gallon. Selfish me.

Morning SC, sad that some companies have been so vindictive of the Trump win, they will be losers in the end. There will be many companies like Hilfiger, climbing aboard the Trump train!

That is exactly what I had for breakfast (well not exactly — water not coffee)

thanks for breakfast fun each morning. Sometimes crystal clear and sometimes a fun guessing game of “what the heck is that?”
