Texas highest criminal court on Wednesday exonerated four San Antonio women who spent almost 15 years in prison after being wrongfully convicted of sexually assaulting two girls, opening the door for the women to seek potentially millions of dollars in state compensation.

I agree they should get some compensation. But, it also sounds like they were set up by false testimony from relatives which the state prosecutors didn’t check out adequately. Don’t the accusers deserve a huge penalty?
15 years out of a life is huge. For a woman, her peak reproductive years are gone.
Half the DA’S are below average.
That seems an incredibly long sentence for women who 1. didn’t kill anyone and 2. had no criminal records (I’m assuming on the last one). You know, maybe a nickle seems right.
