Isn't that what the Draft Board is?

Yeah, and half the women on my Draft Board back in 1969 were women.

IIR correctly, all the women on my draft board were women. Actually, when I visited my local Selective Service office [which is not the draft board] in 1969, I believe the entire staff was female. My draft board consisted of a handful of local “prominent citizens” who decided who would be selected for compulsory military service. I believe that they were all men, and all probably World War II veterans. Anyone who joined voluntarily from your district counted against the quota for that district, only the shortfall was made up of draftees.
