Colin Kaepernick: People blaming him for ratings “need to look in the mirror”
NBC Sports ^ | November 24, 2016 | Darin Gantt

During a conference call with Miami reporters, Kaepernick was asked about polls that suggested his protest was one of the reasons for the decline.

“They’re not watching football because of my stance about fighting systematic oppression and wanting the same equality and freedom for all people? I would say they probably need to look in the mirror at what they value,” Kaepernick said, via Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald.

His 15 minutes of protest fame were exhausted by the second time.

He deserves to be completely ignored and benched.

I have not watched the NFL all season.

$19 million a year and his team has gone from 5-11 in 2015 to 1-9 in wins and losses so far this year. When the ratings drop, so to the salaries ...

Actually what he needs is a unblocked blind side sack by a Lawrence Taylor.

CK can go to hell, I am fine looking into the mirror and do not need the NFL.

[although a moron with a 1-9 record who makes $19 million must be doing something right..... he has suckered the team into paying him!]

He claims a stance, but has no action except insulting our National Anthem.

An entertainer who wants his audience “to look in the mirror” rather than watch him on TV is the problem.

20 people coming over today. Some as remote as inlaws of inlaws. If they wish to watch the NFL here, I may let them slip into a back bedroom, but not on the main living room tv.

Your post #1 is a good one. I often comment that, while many many entertainers enlisted during WW2, and many of them actually saw combat, I can’t think of anyone who left Hollywood to join up after 911.

It affects my view of the entertainment people in general as compared to their grandfathers of an earlier era.

And it makes it difficult for me to watch the stuff they churn out. When you’ve got a nephew or grandkid in the marines, you know what a real warrior looks like. Its hard to take seriously the nancy-boys who play action-heros on film.

I no longer blame Kaepernik for this idiocy. Employers set the rules. He's on field, he's in uniform, he stands for the National Anthem. End of discussion.

For the NFL to allow this is obscene. (PS: so is wearing pink for breast cancer month).

Something else. The reason he has had wonderful opportunities in life is because his black life mattered.....to a white couple who took him in.

No Kapernick - I’m not watching the NFL because of my stance to protest against hate speech and bigotry like yours where you actively support the killing of police.

If you think this is all about “watching football” or that your position wouldn’t be questioned or that your piss poor ideology is the very height of sincerity and needs no introspection then perhaps it is you who needs to re-examine who he is.
