I’d plan on going halfway between and then testing it before saying it’s done. Do you have a good internal thermometer? [but I have never cooked a turkey...really!....so I’m probably not the person to ask. LOL!]

And if you don’t have that birdie in the oven now, you’re gonna be having a VERY late lunch! LOL!

The main concern is not that the turkey gets done, but when the turkey gets done. In about two hours, about a dozen henkster clansmen and clanswomen will descend on our home with the intent of sacking the place in a manner that makes the Vandals Sack of Rome look like a preschool outing.

Dinner is supposed to be at 5:30, and after 3:30 or so there won't be much rational organization going on around here. So we argued about how long to cook the bird. Mrs. henkster said 4 1/2 hours. I said four. We compromised by agreeing to 4 1/2, and then by the time I had prepped the bird and put it in the oven, it was more like four hours to dinner time.

Don't you just love how older married couples work things out?
