I think that having some sort of “common core” is a good thing for all Americans. But it should not be done at the expense of freedom, good education for the kids, and the undermining of sovereignty for the state, local, and family levels of government.

I’d like to hear that too, but I would settle for “we will not inject the federal government into private schooling and homeschooling”. Also, I’d love her to announce her personal support for an exodus from government schooling, which is a lost cause and has been for decades.
