Certainly. I am not a supporter—period.

I do support high standards, strong accountability, and local control. When Governors such as John Engler, Mike Huckabee, and Mike Pence were driving the conversation on voluntary high standards driven by local voices, it all made sense.

Have organizations that I have been a part of supported Common Core? Of course. But that’s not my position. Sometimes it’s not just students who need to do their homework.

However, along the way, it got turned into a federalized boondoggle.

could not agree more. The breathless doomsayers “shocking” headline grabber clickbait is nauseating. And that sometimes includes usually decent places like breitbart. quite frankly the only reasoned discussion I am seeing outside of some people here (and the concern trolls are really pushing it!), is at conservative treehouse. What he accomplished by winning is an ENORMOUS testament to his capabilities, yet nobody seems to trust his judgement in putting his team together!! I believe he is a great judge of character, and he will use people for different purposes that we may not be able to see what he does until it has happened and then we are like the proverbial V8 commercial hitting our heads and saying doh!
