A Vanquished Press Fails To Comprehend Its Defeat by Trump
NY SUn ^ | November 22,2016 | Conrad Black

Posted on 11/23/2016 9:07:06 AM PST by Hojczyk

The mountain of Mr. Remnick’s adulation gives birth to a tiny, squeaking mouse. His explanation of Mr. Trump’s success, the tedious screed about Trump the psychotic, extremist dumbbell, is just a jangling echo of the Democratic campaign: a coast-to-coast, wall-to-wall smear job in the absence of any argument for the reelection of the Democrats. It would have been no less fair for the Republicans to have tied Mr. Obama hand-and-foot to Bill Ayers and Jeremiah Wright.

Mr. Trump won because the United States has had the 15 worst years of misgovernment by all branches and both parties, and the only period of absolute and relative decline, in its history. The new president will have a clear mandate for reform of taxes, spending, health care, immigration, and campaign financing; for a workfare program to address decrepit infrastructure; and for a redefinition of the national interest between George W. Bush’s mindless interventionism andMr. Obama’s Panglossian crusade to make friends of America’s enemies.

Donald Trump is the oldest and wealthiest person elected president, the first not to have had a public office or high military command, the first to pay for his own campaign, and the first since Washington to waive his salary. He has defeated the Clintons, the Bushes, the Obamas, and almost all the dishonest, myth-making national press (including David Remnick). The national political press has declined even more precipitously than the political class, and the president-elect was elevated despite the animosity of both, a signal achievement whose significance those who have been vanquished show no signs of grasping.

They shipped the working class jobs overseas and to Mexico.
The Rust Belt did Hillary in.

Libs are out of touch with America. They live in bubbles and have nothing but contempt for ‘flyover country.’

We should expect push back from every quarter. The lying and mischaracterizations from the press and the pundits will get much worse as their desperation deepens. They are still hoping to end this revolution before it gets a chance to really get going. That is why there is currently so much emphasis on demoralizing Trump followers.

The Denouement

Scene: The Chestnut Cafe, where they learned their credo: “I sold you, you sold me, under the spreading Chestnut tree.”

Characters: Murdoch, Zucker, Moonves, Sherwood, et al. They gaze up at the enormous face, the heads of all the Minitru networks.
The long months it had taken them to learn what kind of smile was hidden beneath that light blonde hair. O cruel, needless misunderstanding! O stubborn, self-willed exile from the loving breast!
Gin-scented tears trickled down the sides of their noses. But it was all right, everything was all right, the struggle was finished. They had won the victory over themselves.

They loved Donald Trump.

A few more sessions in Room 101 should get these movers and shakers and their Winstons squared away. They aren’t calling the shots any longer.

The press will never get it until they admit that:
0bama's "progressive" politics were widely unpopular with half the population to begin with.
0bama's policies failed even the segment of the population they were supposed to benefit (the poor, not the cronies).
People are tired being lied to by the Media who fawned over 0bama and Clinton nonstop.
The Media at first promoted Trump to run against Clinton because they thought he would be easy to beat. Backfired big time.

the first since Washington to waive his salary

************

John F. Kennedy donated his salary to charity so in effect he did not take a salary.

If you don’t like Conrad Black, you probably don’t like Emmett Tyrrell, either. They both could be characterized as conservative iconoclasts.

In the past...we made cars in Flint and the water in Mexico was poisonous

Now.....cars are made in Mexico and the water in Flint is poisonous.

How hard is it to understand this...?.

It is easier to to teach this to dims than to teach goats to surf

Goats surfing.

“If you don’t like Conrad Black, you probably don’t like Emmett Tyrrell, either.”

I can’t feature Tyrell saying, “Never have I been an Obama hater or someone who disputed his patriotism.”

There are only a few possible explanations for a statement like that, and stupidity is the kindest.

All in all, not a bad article. As time goes by the press will come to fully understand, as the sniper said of a target, “He’s dead, he just doesn’t know it yet.”

Trump is getting the nevertrumpers to jump through his hoops. Not sure why all the stuhrm und drang over him coopting them. The press will take some time.
I expect the Bushes to front-and-center soon. Trump will do it using the power of the office as a `bully pulpit’.

It’s all just one real estate deal after another for Trump, and he’s won and is still winning. As Emmett Tyrrell put it, we’ve been breathing a noxious kultursmog for a long time.

Trump won’t be able to fix it all at once. “She [Wisdom] teaches temperance, and prudence, and justice, and fortitude, which are such things as men can have nothing more profitable in life.”
Patience is listed by Paul in Galatians 5:22-23 as among the fruit of the Spirit. Faith without works, IOW, it’s all good.
Moralizing and bromides concluded.
