Very true. I mean, he’s the President-elect of the United States, and across the table are people who publish a newspaper...who has the power here? It’s not like anything he says is going to change their minds about climate-stuff, all they can do is write things that try to embarrass or draw him off his preferred message defending it. So, he plays it smart with an answer that is politically and scientifically correct.

I’ve seen few people better at doing this than Kellyanne Conway and I suspect her fine hand is behind some of these recent positions.

Of all people, the President is the one who is most able to later simply say “new information has been brought to my attention, the details of which I cannot share, but which ahs caused me to reevaluate my position on this issue”.

What you hear Kellyanne saying in public you have to remember that Trump is getting a much harder line on everything from Steve Bannon in private. So I take some of Kellyanne’s comments with a grain of salt.
