Trump changes mind on waterboarding, global warming
americanthinker.com ^ | 11/23/2016 | Ed Straker

Donald Trump, after stating that he was going to reinstate waterboarding "and worse" for terrorists, now says he is against waterboarding. He also says global warming, which he once said was a hoax created by the Chinese to make U.S. manufacturing uncompetitive, may be caused by man-made activities.

Donald Trump seemed to acknowledge that humans contribute to climate change Tuesday in a meeting with New York Times reporters, moving closer to widely held scientific opinion but away from the Republican Party line.

He is keeping an "open mind" when it comes to climate issues, he said.

"I think there is some connectivity" between human activity and climate change, Trump said[.]

There is no way any person who is informed about the "theory" of global warming can believe that. The theory of global warming is that human-produced carbon dioxide traps heat in the atmosphere. But human-produced CO2 is only 3% of all CO2 (most is produced naturally), which in turn is only 3% of all the chemicals in the atmosphere. Common sense would tell anyone that human CO2 production has no bearing on so-called global warming.

I'm nervous. But I will withhold critical judgement or overt concern

1. If you want a perfect candidate, pick a different planet.
2. The mass media will throw out wedge issues to separate Trump from his supporters. It doesn't matter what the media says, period.
3. Once Trump starts governing, the media will lie about everything he does.

This isn't an "Either/Or" matter.

In your opinion. But let's discard that question.

Do you want Trump to specifically spend time going after Hillary, or should he let things already in process reach their conclusion ? (which is , I believe, what you were getting at)

Further, let me ask this: If the FBI/DOJ came up with an indictment, do you think TRUMP would do something to prevent it ?

Hey you delusional apologist -- Do you want Trump to follow through on HIS PROMISE to continue the ongoing FBI investigation AND prosecute THE biggest criminal and traitor in US political history OR pardon Hitlery

There's no pardon on the table, you made that up. Also he said that investigation is still on the table: "In a meeting with New York Times reporters, President-elect Donald Trump said he would not take the investigations of the Clintons off the table."

Public corruption is one of our biggest problems we face in government today, and prosecuting one of the worst offenders is an important step in cleaning things up. We can't continue to have different sets of rules for common people and "public servants".

Maybe we should get rid of the different sets of rules first.

If Hillary is protected by a different set of rules, how can she be indicted for following those 'rules' ?

Besides, I think it will not be necessary for Trump to take action to indict Hillary. It will come from other sources.

Building trust with cigarettes and beer may work over the long term, but if you need information about an imminent attack it seems that torture works better. Of course my opinion is based on what I see on TV.

That was an Either/Or proposition, Einstein.

Stop playing media-like parsing games.

Kelly-Anne Conway AND Rudy Guiliani BOTH said that Trump wasn't going after Hitlery. Maybe the flack Trump's received for suggesting that notion has rung his PROMISE-BELL and changed the equation. At this point SEEING IS BELIEVING.

If you were paying attention you wouldn’t go off like a spooked pussycat every time the media spins or constructs the news. How many times have the lied, misquoted, made up Trump’s positions. Keep your powder dry.

What "time" spent?

Again -- you do realize that years of investigation and intel-gathering has already be conducted; IOW, the heavy lifting.

The question *now* is whether or not Trump is going to dampen the investigation and instruct his FBI/DoJ to spike it.

Do you believe that's a possibility?

Go ahead and tell me that Kelly-Anne Conway and Rudy Guiliani are part of the "media spin."

Did you even listen to either one of them speak?

Geez, how many of you are going to hallucinate over the truth on this issue?

You are setting up strawmen and you would be a lousy strategist.
There is a time and a place for everything and there will be a time and place for Hillary to pay for her crimes against the American people. Watch as the tendrils close. It won’t be the frontal approach but a gradual mutter that becomes a roar.

Let Trump get into the Presidency, confirm his cabinet and then he will be in a position to be move on many fronts. His job now is to assemble his cabinet & get them in place without creating avenues openings for Dem resistance. He will not make divisive statements or lay to rest every MSM rumor, many of them serve his purposes. It is for us to be supportive now knowing that his aims have been stated and that he is moving to succeed for America.

So, what you are feeling is that President Trump is going to spike the investigation that you say the FBI and DOJ have 95% wrapped up? Is that reasonable? Kellyanne said TRUMP was not going after Hillary, she didn’t say that he would stop the investigation already in process.

You need to calm down and stop insulting people who have been here much longer than you just because they don’t see things just as you do.

And Obama has said, incorrectly I might add, that he can’t pardon Snowden who isn’t convicted yet. So the best idea is not to indite or suggest that indictment is imminent until 58 days from now. Obama’s statement may have been a tell to Hillary not to look for relief from his corner.
