Welcome to Washington’s new normal: One Trump drama after another
Wash Post via MSN.com ^ | 11/22/2016 | Philip Rucker, Marc Fisher

For Donald Trump, little is more intoxicating and affirming of his own power than creating tornadoes and watching them tear across the landscape.

In the space of just 24 hours this week, the president-elect set off cyclones near and far that preview the drama he seems likely to bring to the White House.

Trump summoned two dozen television executives and news anchors to his offices Monday to berate them as dishonest and disobedient. He sought to strong-arm the British government to appoint his Brexit ally, Nigel Farage, as ambassador to the United States. He dropped his threat to prosecute Democratic opponent Hillary Clinton, disregarding his “lock her up” campaign chant and incurring the wrath of some reliable supporters.

Then there was Tuesday’s meeting with The New York Times, the newspaper Trump loves to mock as “failing.” It was scheduled, then canceled, then rescheduled. And once the president-elect settled in at the Grey Lady’s boardroom, he softened his position on climate change, floated the idea that his son-in-law could broker peace in the Middle East, voiced new doubts about the effectiveness of torturing terrorism suspects, savaged Republicans who wavered on his candidacy and left unresolved concerns about how — or even whether — he would disassociate himself from his global business holdings to avoid conflicts of interest.

Whew.

Trump loves a circus.

It will be a fun ride.

Diplomacy is going to be upended. Already started in UK and he isn’t even President, yet.

Only the commie US media could see drama in the start up of a normal Republican administration where it doesn’t exist. Trump was right to chew out the media for their liberal bias and lies and despicable slanted coverage.

I hope he avoids the media at every turn. Go around them. I would love to see them left out of the party.

Yeah, let's just make stuff up and print it ...

More fake news from a fake news site.

They will have to get resident psychiatrists at the Democrat propaganda outlets. They’ll be exhausted by their hyper-ventilating attacks on so many Pres. Trump initiatives.

I think it’s important to remember we voted more for a nationalist than a conservative because the times deemed it necessary to our survival as a country.

Build the wall, increase jobs, throw out illegals, cut the debt, slash agencies, no money to the UN and I’ll be happy.

I think it is a fairly accurate article of Trump’s life.

Here is the key take away from trump on the next 4 years. Said about his divorce:

“The show is Trump, and it is sold-out performances everywhere.”

Washington Post 2015: "Trump is definitely NOT going to get the Republican Nomination!"

Washington Post Early 2016: "Trump is definitely NOT going to win the Presidency!"

Washington Post Now: "Trump is definitely NOT going to get reelected in 2020!"

Washington Post 2020: "Trump is definitely NOT going to get reelected in 2024...Because the Constitution bars it...Ha! Ha! We finally stopped Trump! Victory! Victory is ours!"

Dilbert creator made an astute comment...something along the lines that no one else but Trump could have beaten Hillary if running on the same policies, etc.

I really don’t think anyone else could have beaten Hillary...period.

And I also don’t think Trump could have won at any other time.

It was the Perfect storm.

The “drama”, if any, is being created, and purpetrated by the media.

The talking heads are spinning at the thought of Trump not kissing their collective ass, and following the usual liberal response, they are pitching a tantrum.

Maybe I’ll coin a word, that should be “tanTRUMP”, for the left.

They’re no longer getting to drive the train, in fact, they are riding in the caboose. Trump, and the American people are riding “first class” now.

No real he-man military officer wants to be assigned to the Pentagon. Why don't we clear out the heap of left over spoiled festering WWII mobilization bureaucracy, and declare it a safe space for all of the denizens of DC who can't handle the real world. The can romp around the 5-sided psycho ward to their hearts content.

Wall it off and barge in food and inmates on the Potomac side.

He is going to suck all the air out of the 24/7 news cycle.

Their snarky hit pieces are not going to get any traction.

Trump is working in real time, the news cycle (especially opinion pieces are at minimum 24 hours old). By the time they get around to comment on them, Trump is 50 miles down the road.
