Donald Trump Lost Most of The American Economy In This Election {Trump Won "Deplorables"?]

Donald Trump Lost Most of The American Economy In This Election By Jim Tankersley November 22

In the modern era of presidential politics, no candidate has ever won the popular vote by more than Hillary Clinton did this year, yet still managed to lose the electoral college. In that sense, 2016 was a historic split: Donald Trump won the presidency by as much as 74 electoral votes (depending on how Michigan ends up) while losing the nationwide vote to Clinton by 1.7 million votes and counting.

But there's another divide exposed by the election, which researchers at the Brookings Institution recently discovered as they sifted the election returns. It has no bearing on the election outcome, but it tells us something important about the state of the country and its politics moving forward.

The divide is economic, and it is massive. According to the Brookings analysis, the less-than-500 counties that Clinton won nationwide combined to generate 64 percent of America's economic activity in 2015. The more-than-2,600 counties that Trump won combined to generate 36 percent of the country's economic activity last year.

Clinton, in other words, carried nearly two-thirds of the American economy.

Here's how the researchers, at the Brookings Metropolitan Policy Program, visualized that. You can see immediately what's going on: With the exceptions of the Phoenix and Fort Worth areas, and a big chunk of Long Island, Clinton won every large-sized economic county in the country.

Not true. GWB beat JFK in 2004 by more than 3 million.

That little fact will be turned around rather quickly when jobs begin returning to the US. Our false economy will become productive again. Oh, yes, please count the mailed ballots, CA. There are more than enough military ballots to give Trump a majority in total votes cast.

Since one must register with WaPo to read the entire article - which I have not done - perhaps someone could post further excerpts and graphs. The article is getting some traction and I would like to read all of it. Thanks.

Two problems.

One, the illegal immigrant vote hopefully will be solved in the future by a more robust voter ID system, such as the Homeland Security database and a requirement to produce identification before voting.

Two, if we wish to count the popular vote, then we need to count all the absentee ballots, sent in mainly by military (overwhelmingly Republican) and people outside the country with two passports, probably many more Republicans than Democrats. So, COUNT THEM IN THE BEGINNING AND COUNT THEM ALL, which is not done when one candidate (the Republican one almost always) has more votes than the total absentee ballots.

Gore would have lost by millions, Hillary also, as most of those 2,500 plus counties were won by BIG MAJORITIES by Trump.

Finally, no one wants California or New York to decide the elections. The Founding Fathers did not want New York City deciding every election either.

Three to seven million illegal aliens voted for Hillary, and she stole at least five states.

I’m getting so damn tired of the talking point that Hillary won the popular vote. Until all votes are counted, including absentee ballots, we will never know who won the popular vote because all votes cast will not have been counted.

OK, so how much of that “economic activity” was just overpaid, useless government bureaucrats and crony money wasters? How much was activity of people who actually CONTRIBUTE to the economic, rather than just suck?

while losing the nationwide vote to Clinton by 1.7 million votes and counting.

Clinton won California by about 3.5 million votes. Without California, Hillary would have been crushed.

Trump needs to focus on California is getting rid of the Illegals.

Trump won w/ electoral votes while losing the nationwide vote to Clinton by 1.7 million votes and counting.

This so much balderdash. Clinton did not "win" the popular vote; the smell of Democrat desperation to elect Hillary was everywhere.

Just as one example: Illegals ere not entitled to vote but Obama fixed it by parading in millions of illegals to vote en masse and he spread around huge amts of govt money to fix the vote for Hillary.

<><> Obama and Congressional Democrats----w/ then-AG Eric Holder----gave NeighborWorks America (formerly ACORN), and blood-thirsty La Raza a huge funding source...our tax dollars.

<><> Obama/Holder/Dems extorted banks via DOJ litigation/bank settlements----these nefarious liberal organizations got all the loot.

=====================================================

BACKSTORY Obama and Congressional Democrats----with a huge assist from then-AG Eric Holder----gaven NeighborWorks America (formerly ACORN) and La Raza a huge funding source of tax dollars (to achieve Obama's dream of a permanent Democrat majority?).

<><> Obama/Holder/Dems extorted banks via DOJ litigation/bank settlements----into paying off these nefarious organizations.

DOJ went after CitiCorp and ordered them to pay $50 million to La Raza and NeighborWorks America as part of the settlement.

Another clause in the agreement makes it possible for La Raza and NeighborWorks America to rake in even larger amounts of money.

Of the remaining money the banks needed to pay in settlements, the banks were able to contribute additional money to La Raza and NeighborWorks America. For every dollar they contribute, it reduces their debt to the government by 2 dollars. That’s some mighty powerful incentive to give generously.

==================================================

House Judiciary Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte (R-Va.) and House Financial Services Chairman Jeb Hensarling have questioned why this money was sent to the ACORN clone and the blood-thirsty LaRaza----rather than to the alleged victims of the bank’s crime. The administration of course declined to answer.

Here's part of the Congressmen's letter to Holder: “It seems that the alleged victims are not the primary beneficiaries of these multi-billion dollar settlements. Instead, the terms in the Justice Department’s two latest settlements look less like consumer relief and more like a scheme to funnel money to politically favored special interest groups.”

“This makes donations to activist groups far more attractive to banks than providing direct relief to injured consumers. As a result, the settlements appear to serve as a vehicle for funding activist groups rather than as a means of securing relief for consumers actually harmed.”

=====================================

Trump should begin the detection/prevention/defunding of massive Democrat voter fraud.
