Womens college loses it when Hillary Clinton loses election
When Republican Donald Trump was elected president last week, the intelligent, determined young women of Converse College along with their esteemed instructors lost their minds.
They posted video of themselves crying on Snapchat. They walked around campus in tears, and the administration set up safe zones where students werent allowed to discuss the election results.
One of my professors pushed back a midterm given recent upsetting events, and students planned to organize silent protests on Thursday.
If this sounds like the typical college reaction to Trumps victory, theres a twist: Converse is a womens liberal arts college. From President Krista Newkirk on down, the Converse community invested a huge part of its identity in Democrat Hillary Clinton shattering the last remaining glass ceiling in America.
The only acceptable sentiments to express since Wednesday have been grief and outrage. Feelings are so raw that the few contrarians on campus have become targets.
One student even claims she got kicked out of class after she challenged her professors comparison of Trumps election to the September 11 terrorist attacks.
Never been so disgusted in my life Before she was ejected from class by her professor, the student wrote a Facebook post scolding those who were comparing 11/9 to 9/11:
"You are comparing today to a day that killed thousands of people in MY HOME. You are disrespectful, you are unintelligent and you should think before you post things on social media. I am disgusted."
That comparison continued in the students class, she said. (The student requested anonymity to share her story, so The College Fix is not naming the professor either.)
The professor told the class I havent felt this way since 9/11 and called Nov. 9 the second worst day in American history, according to the student. That spurred her to disagree and tell her professor it was disrespectful to those who lost their lives on 9/11.
I went to her class and got kicked out for expressing my opinion, the student said. She asked to meet with the dean of the department, who told her the issue would be rectified in a professional and acceptable manner, according to the student.
I have never been so disgusted in my life, the student told The Fix.
Frank Converse drove a semi with Claude Akins.
“.......intelligent, determined young women of Converse College along with their esteemed instructors lost their minds.”.........
Obviously they are liberals who, by that definition have no mind. liberalism, as we all know is a disease.
In my past I tangled a few times with teachers, I can imagine it went something like “You may leave” or “feel free to leave my classroom” which could be taken as being thrown out during a heated discussion.
“The student lied”
It would be helpful, to you, to read the piece you posted.
“The faculty member and student involved have asked Converse to convey that this claim is untrue and to clarify the situation.”
The student DIDN’T lie. Someone else either lied, or got it wrong.
All of this boils down to “the globalists are scared”.
+1, agree
Your take is spot on. If a student wants to leave a class early, or go to the bathroom, or whatever, in almost any classroom setting these days they are free to do so. If a student was TOLD she was free to leave the classroom, the implication in that explicit statement (if such a statement was made) couldn’t be clearer - that means you’re not welcome here, which translates to “don’t disagree with me”.
The statement from the school is typical of something carefully constructed with weasel words to distract the gullible.
My thought too. Considering a young student would feel threatened if a professor said “you’re free to leave!” I would have assumed it wasn’t really a request.
How come males aren’t allowed to attend this college? Give these anti-male colleges a dose of there own medicine and fight for the right for men to go to college there.
What a teachable moment the College had here.
“Yes, we want a women to break the glass ceiling, but it is vitally important that woman not be a criminal.”
That should have been the guiding philosophy here. It obviously wasn’t.
Here women were thinking with their “female part”. Men get charged with something akin to that all the time. When they get accused of it, it’s supposed to be funny. It’s not funny, and it’s not meant to be funny here.
For eight years we have discussed how terrible it is that Blacks were first represented by what we have come to believe is a traitor. It’s a slap in the face of every Black person in the nation, that Obama was foisted up on stage as the first Black president. Even though they voted for it in large numbers, others helped.
Here women thought it was more important that a female was president than that a good person was president. They actually wanted to wave all her criminality, just so a woman could have the job.
Who cares if it’s a person who may abuse power as she has for decades, and this time from the White House. It’s more important that a woman have the job.
Stupidity like this is difficult to describe other than outing the group who had that collective brain failure.
The faculty at this college should be ashamed of themselves, and if my daughter were going there I’d yank her out of then with ten minutes of hearing about this.
Courses offered to female women only:

In some ways, it’s very much like a cult, folks say.
If I were a woman and attended female only classes, what would the claim to being first in my class mean?
It would mean that I didn’t go up against a single man to achieve that. That would not satisfy me.
This is not to make a statement that men or women are more intelligent or less intelligent.
It just means you only went up against half the potential competitors.
How does being in all women environment prepare women for the work place where there are men around?
Men think differently. These women will never have worked in a setting with adult men working on problems together.
If I were reviewing a resume, this would not impress me.
It was NOT listed in the Constitution as a Federal responsibility and since it was NOT ratified by the states is not legal! Trump intends to return control of education to the individual states.
Yeah, sixty years ago I wore them in white.
I thought the snowflakes were given teddy bears.
Maybe it’s just me, but the difference between being “given the opportunity to leave class” and being “thrown out of class” sounds a lot like being “asked to resign” and being “fired.”
Not having a very bright night are we?
You are right. With all the talk about college students being precious snowflakes, I completely misread the article as the student making the Trump=9/11 statement and causing a ruckus in class and being given the option to leave. Sorry about that.
“The student was given the opportunity to leave class”
Somehow, that doesn’t ring true”
Your spin / bs detector is working perfectly, This is how the managerial types spin stuff to make reality sound more palatable. I see it every single day at my job.
Think about it. What conversation could have been happening that led to the professor offering the student n opportunity to leave class? Given an opportunity to leave? As opposed to..what, exactly? Locked in? Had security called to escort out?
I bet anything the last sentence or two sounded something like
“You disagree you have two seconds to get out of here before I call security!”
