Trump Probably Did Better With Latino Voters Than Romney Did (Leftist denial alert)

In the lead-up to the election, there was a lot of talk about how Latinos would turn out in record numbers to stop Donald Trump. But not only did Trump end up winning, exit polls also indicated that he won 29 percent of the Latino vote — better than Mitt Romney had done four years earlier. That has sparked a heated debate among pollsters and advocacy groups over whether the exit polls can be trusted.

The most prominent skeptics of the exit polls’ findings have been Gary Segura and Matt Barreto, the co-founders of Latino Decisions, a polling firm that focuses on the U.S. Latino population. Segura and Barreto, who both worked for Hillary Clinton’s campaign, have argued vigorously over the past week that the exit polls were wrong and that Clinton performed better among Latinos than President Obama did in 2012. Based on their own polling, they think Clinton outperformed Obama and got nearly 80 percent of the Latino vote, not the 65 percent indicated by exit polls.

Apparently the new meme in the leftist media is that while Trump did better with Latinos, the exit polls cannot be trusted, although Trump "probably" did better. Comical to watch this play out.

I agree that the exit polls can't be trusted.

Remember how most of the polls leading up to the election were way off because a lot of Trump voters would never admit that they were voting for him?

Well, guess what ... those voters were no more likely to admit voting for him after the fact, either.

Personally, I suspect Trump made huge inroads among black and Hispanic voters who will never admit that they voted for him.

The Donald surely did a LOT better among the expatriate Cubans who have become very good naturalized Americans.

“Hispanic voters” are not a monolithic bloc. Puerto Ricans are in many ways vastly different from Mexicans, because for one thing, when they come to the mainland, they are US citizens right away, and really do not have to fear possible deportation, or go through a naturalization process. Mexicans differ even among themselves, as there are the good, industrious ones, and there are the ones who were sleazeballs in Mexico, and had no reason for an attitude adjustment once they crossed the border, legally or otherwise (and most of that variety WERE otherwise).

The assumption by the left and RINOs is that all latinos want amnesty and open borders.

Citizens of every ethnicity want secure borders and the rule of law.

Only illegal aliens and those who employ them are in favor of the status quo.

Correct - many Latino citizens are no fans of illegal immigration or amnesty.

The NYT went with 29% Hispanic/Latino for Trump, 8% higher than Romney got. I'll trust them for a change. Good enough for a win.
