Trump's staff picks alarm minorities: 'Injustice to America'

President-elect Donald Trump's choices for leadership posts threaten national unity and promise to turn back the clock on progress for racial, religious and sexual minorities, civil rights leaders and others said Friday after his nomination of Sen. Jeff Sessions for attorney general.

Comments attributed to Trump's picks, also including alt-right architect Stephen Bannon as senior adviser and chief strategist and former Army Lt. Michael Flynn as national security adviser, serve to embolden everyday Americans to lash out at members of minority groups, they said.

Sessions, of Alabama, was denied a federal judgeship in 1986 after hearings in which he was accused of making racially charged remarks as a U.S. attorney. According to transcripts, Sessions was accused, among other things, of joking that he thought the Ku Klux Klan "was OK" until he learned they smoked marijuana, and of calling a black assistant U.S. attorney "boy." During the hearing, Sessions denied making some of the comments and said others were jokes taken out of context.

"Every American should be concerned about the direction of the U.S. Department of Justice and oppose any nominee who threatens to turn back the clock on civil rights by 50 years," said National Urban League President Marc Morial.

Bannon led the Breitbart website, which has widely condemned as racist, sexist and anti-Semitic. In a 2011 radio interview, he said conservative women infuriated liberals because they "would be pro-family, they would have husbands, they would love their children," contrasting that against a slur for lesbians.

Trump campaign manager Kellyanne Conway has called the accusations against Bannon "very unfair."

Lennie Gerber, an 80-year-old resident of High Point, North Carolina, who led the fight against her state's ban on same-sex marriage, said she worried Trump's appointments will further incite such sentiments among the public.

All THIS American cares about is if they are competent and qualified. From what I can see, President-Elect Donald J. Trump (I never get tired of typing that) is 4-for-4. Diversity for the sake of diversity is terminal stupidity.

[[Trump’s staff picks alarm minorities: ‘Injustice to America’]]

The only injustice is what has been done to my country for the past 8 years.

The fact that the lefties hate who he is picking just means he is choosing wisely .

To the lefties who don’t like it , get over yourselves , you’re not special. It’s time to grow up , the adults are back in charge of running the country, like it or not.

Well, there’s no telling how it will work out when you prioritize results over tokenism.

I hate opinionated lies like this put into articles as if they were facts:

Bannon led the Breitbart website, which has widely condemned as racist, sexist and anti-Semitic.

Widely? By who? The Far Left! And that includes the modern media. They hurl the racist label around like confetti paper, using it to tar their political enemies, not actual racists.

Breitbart is a conservative site, and to the Left, that means racist. That's wrong, not true, BS, but they pop these little lies into their articles and most folks miss them, caught up in debating the larger points.

Eventually, when you mention you read something on Breitbart, a normal person even says, "What? You mean that racist site?"

We need to defend our own.

“Sessions’s actual track record certainly doesn’t suggest he’s a racist. Quite the opposite, in fact. As a U.S. Attorney he filed several cases to desegregate schools in Alabama. And he also prosecuted the head of the state Klan, Henry Francis Hays, for abducting and killing Michael Donald, a black teenager selected at random. Sessions insisted on the death penalty for Hays. When he was later elected the state Attorney General, Sessions followed through and made sure Hays was executed. The successful prosecution of Hays also led to a $7 million civil judgment against the Klan, effectively breaking the back of the KKK in Alabama.”

Here the about page on the biased writer:

“Errin Haines Whack
Award-winning journalist and media diversity advocate covering urban affairs for The Associated Press.
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania”

Not just a reporter, but an ADVOCATE.

I don’t think advocates should write news stories. Opinion pieces are fine, but the trend in the media is all news is opinion. Their opinions, of course.

“0 for 4”

They want homos, trannies, commies and freaks in positions of power - that to them is “die-versity”.

Sanity seems to be returning to Gov’t with Trump.
